Meanwhile back in Emit's lab, Vito was watching over Natalie as she was beginning to wake up after having her clothes removed, and her body bandaged. It wasn't a full body cast, but she could still move a bit.
As Natalie opened her eyes, she felt her brain begin to make her moan in pain. It didn't hurt for her to sit up while wearing the hospital gown, but Natalie still had more wounds than just the ones from her head. "What happened?" Natalie asked. "Where did the Merovingian go, Vito? All I remember is being rescued by some woman on a rooftop."
Natalie wiped her eyes, and started to take a couple of stretches, while she was still up, but Vito laid her down while she was still in bed. "And before almost fainting, that woman claimed that she was my mother," Natalie said, while wiping the sweat from her forehead. "She was, and is," Vito explained. "Apparently after you passed out during your fight with the Merovingian, your telepathic call for help must have made her answer it, and rescue you from a tragic fate."
"You mean, that woman that rescued me was actually one of my birth parents?" Natalie asked. "Well one of them," Vito answered. "All we have to do is find your father next, and the Smith's will think twice before they can try, and conquer the Matrix." "I don't even know where to start, though," Natalie commented. "It's been years since I was born, and I was never told who they were from Nicole, aside from how they act towards each other. Maybe Nicole was keeping secrets from me all these years."
"Perhaps, but I highly doubt she did it on purpose," Emit agreed, as he went over to the couple, while joining in on the conversation. "After all, she didn't even tell you that you had your father's powers before you discovered the Matrix. Maybe the best way to look for proof is to look in her house." "I don't think that's a good idea," Vito commented. "Nicole could find it, breaking, and entering if we showed up there out of nowhere." "No Vito, Emit is right," Natalie explained. "Besides, I am almost 21, and Nicole has been raising me since I was abandoned by my parents as a baby. I'm sure she won't mind a visit from me."
