Chapter 14

Gujarat 1982

It had now been a few days since Rocky woke up from his coma and he was now slowly getting accustomed to his new life. He was living with Ashok and would help him in his market. Ashok still didn't know anything about Rocky so he decided today was the day to ask him all of his questions.

"Son if you don't mind can I ask you a few questions" asked Ashok. 

Rocky turned his attention to the man and said "Of course uncle. you can ask me anything". The man took a deep breath and started.

" Well first I would like to know your name". Rocky now realised that the man whom he was now living with didn't even know his name and had been calling him son ever since he woke up. In fact the man didn't know anything about him.

 "Ro.." he was about to say Rocky but then something struck his mind. 

He had nothing that Rocky had. No kgf, no gold, no money, no family, no wife, no baby. He was back to square one. Back to the same boy who lost his mother when he was ten. Back to Raja. 

"Raja. My name is Raja uncle". "Ah ok, um secondly why were u drowning in the sea". As far as the rest of the world knew, Rocky was dead. So this story was to be told only through the eyes of Raja, not Rocky. 

"My mother was a young mum. Married at 14, had me at 15. I was her whole world. Suddenly when I was ten, she passed away from cancer. My father was a drunkard so I basically had no one after she left." 

"I moved to Bombay shortly after in search for a job and I was working under this man and his associates for a few years and had myself my own small family there. My Chacha had taken care of me like his own son. You actually remind of him a little." 

"When I was around 26 I got a job in Bangalore so I moved there and that is where I met my wife. We fell in love and got married after a few years. At the time I had a few bad ties with some people. Those same bad ties cost me the life of my wife and unborn child. I had nothing after she left. So I decided to end it all and set of to the sea in hopes that I would be reunited with her In the after life but I guess God doesn't want to fulfil my wishes even then" he blinked away the tears as he spoke of his 'old life'

"Um wow. That's really tough. I'm so sorry you went through all of that Raja, especially at such a young age. I know what its like to lose the love of your life, it isn't easy in the slightest but I assure as time passes you will heal and move on" he said as he slightly pat his back. "Thanks uncle but I really don't know if I can. I really cant live without her". 

"Then that only means one thing. God has given you a second chance in life. Maybe she's in that life as well". Rocky stared at the man wide eyed. " Impossible, I saw her die right in front of my eyes. She was shot. Killing her and my baby". "Then your only option is to move on my son". 

One week later.

Rocky was sitting in his room staring out into the balcony like he did every other day. He found peace staring at the moon because he knew his Chinna was looking down on him from heaven listening to him as he spoke to her. 

"Chinna, I was missing you a lot today. On this day 5 years ago my life changed. Today was the very first day I met you in Bangalore. The day you brought light into my dark and empty life. I know you used to always ask me how I was able to say I love you after just meeting you, and I know I never used to have an answer to your questions but let me tell you now, how I was able to say I love you when I first met you".

 "It all started when I was waiting in the car with the driver in a huge traffic jam. People were running everywhere and I was getting late for my meeting. To make it even worse it was a dry day so my alcohol supply was almost empty. Just then someone ran past the car and told us that Rajendra desai's daughter had blocked all the roads and was partying with alcohol just because it was a dry day. Before I even met you I was soo immensely attracted to you. I knew no one that would go to such lengths besides you. And then I decided to go have a look myself. My eyes first saw the alcohol bottles but then I felt the world stop spinning. Everything was blurry besides the silhouette of a girl in a golden dress sipping on a bottle of beer, bottoms up."

" And that's when you turned around and for the first time I felt my heart stop. It was the most beautiful site I had ever seen. You stood there like you were the most powerful person to walk those streets. Your hair blowing in the wind, those beautiful brown eyes and pink and round lips. but most importantly, your soul. I could see past your disguise just by looking into your eyes. I could see how similar we were, just 2 people yearning for love. That's when I knew I loved you. I knew no one else had, could or ever will make me feel this way besides you. That's why I said it. And after I did my life changed forever."

" No one ever dared to stand against me or challenge me but you did. Without even an ounce of fear present in your voice. I loved how you weren't afraid of me. It made you that much more attractive. And my love for you has only grown more with every passing day. I hope your thinking of me too. I love you Chinna. Goodnight." and he headed of to sleep after his daily talk with 'Reena'.

that same night back at kgf

Reena had just put her son to sleep and made her way to the balcony. She stared out at the vast kgf. So much had changed in these last 5 years she thought. This day 5 years ago was when she first met Rocky. The day she realised that there was someone out there who would give her the love she was yearning for.

 It was true that she absolutely despised Rocky when she first met him but that quickly changed after their second meet. She began to grow a soft spot for him. And soon that bloomed into love. True love. She looked up to the moon. 

" Hi Rocky, sorry to wake you up in case your sleeping but I hope you remember what day it is today. The day you barged into my life and showed me what love is. I think about the day a lot. I cant wait until Naveen is older and he asks me how me and his dad met and I can tell him about our funny interaction. He is starting to look a lot like you as the days go by. At least I know that your watching me through him. I love you Rocky. Goodnight" she said to 'Rocky' and headed to bed.
