"Oh shit! I'm sorry!" Lexa's oversized purse accidentally sent a large, steaming cup of tea falling from the wooden table as she glanced the extensive menu.

"Fuck," Clarke muttered as she felt the warmth coat her thighs.

However, she quickly composed herself, realizing she was in public, and looked up with a slightly forced but gentle and utterly adorable smile at the woman before her. Beautiful brown locks framed the woman's face, and her eyes glistened with a shade of captivating green. "It's okay, it's horribly crowded in here, you're good." She lifted her laptop and looked over herself.

"I'm not. Oh my gosh, you're drenched! Let me help you." Without hesitation, Lexa grabbed a handful of paper towels, instinctively beginning to dab at the dampness on the girl's thighs before realizing what she was doing. "Oh, sorry, I—here." She awkwardly handed the towels to Clarke, a mix of concern and embarrassment evident on her face.

The blonde girl chuckled at the situation and shook her head, her jeans were absolutely ruined.

Lexa was of course worried she had hurt the girl, ruined her jeans or possibly her day.. but knowing Clarke, this would wash right off her.

"Is the computer okay?" Lexa asked out of pure concern and interest.

"It is, I promise you're fine" Clarke reassured herself by looking around at the laptop.

"At least let me replace that cup".

"No, really, It's-"

"I insist." Lexa smiled reassuringly.

"Well, can't say much to that can I?"

//

Clarke's eyes followed the new character with her eyes as she walked up to the register and ordered. She was beautiful, really, she was wearing a tank, low waisted blue jeans and was showing off an arm tattoo and.. some pretty impressive muscles and scars.

What was she thinking about again? Oh right, she was pretty. She was really jealous of that lustrous hair cascading down her back.

The woman returned offering a gentle smile and a fresh cup of steaming tea.

"Ma'am" She nodded sweetly as she placed it in front of her.

"You shouldn't have, but since you did, thank you?" She stretched the 'you' making it sound like a question.

An invitation.

"Lexa" she answered.

The blonde turned her head sideways and smiled, "never heard that before, you look like a Lexa, it's beautiful" she pursed her lips, "oh and I'm Clarke"

"That's a lovely name, too".

"I'm sorry, my boss is harassing me with these emails" She shook her head at her screen, clearly needing to get back to pursuing her occupation.

"Of course, may we meet again Griffin"

"How did you-"

Fuck. What an idiot move. Uhh.. oh;

"Your laptop"

Lexa is one lucky son of a-

"Oh, right" Clarke laughed and put her palm to her forehead. "May we meet- wait is that from The 100?"

It probably isn't .. God that's dorky, she just embarrassed herself in front of this gorgeous, strange woman.

"You've read it?" Lexa's mouth curled into a tiny smirk.

Oh thank god.

"I have, well.." She shook her head slightly, "I have."

She didn't go in to detail, she didn't talk about how she suddenly abandoned the book at page 307 and left Lexa's thoughts to herself. But it's okay. It's her business.

"It's a great read. Well, I'll leave you to it then" Lexa nodded and gestured towards Clarke's folders and her laptop.

"Right.. pleasure to meet you, Lexa!"

"Sorry again about your jeans" And Lexa was out the door.

Lexa made it to the bus in time. She once again stroked the spine of the book, she stroked along the letters on the bottom, K, A, S, S, and the last name was pretty much gone, maybe it was Morgan? She wasn't sure.

She scrolled to a page she'd read many times, it wasn't one of her blonde's truly deep thoughts, not one of Clarke's rants or metaphors. It was a single word, showing so much more than just that word, showing her humor, contributing her personality, a mix of the best.

It was the word 'gay!' after one of the main character's interactions with a certain butcher. And it was, indeed, gay.

She traced the word and smiled to herself.

What a woman.

A woman she had now met, connected with.

Lexa hoped she had felt it too, if not yet..

Her hustle is far from over anyways.
