Two hours passed by with them just sitting on the cold floor, doing nothing but staring at the white walls everywhere around.
It wasn't what Hana expected when he asked her to stay.
With every passing minute, she felt weird, her mind and body had given up in the first 30 minutes only. She wanted to talk to him but couldn't. Her mouth was closed shut since past two hours but she didn't know why.
With a tiny bit of consciousness still left in her, she tried standing up. After minutes of trying, she finally got hold of her body and stood up straight.

"Leaving already?"he whispered from behind when she was trying to reach for the door.
It was the first thing he spoke after he told her to stay.

Hana didn't say anything, just turned the doorknob and was about to open the door when he whispered again,
"And then you guys have the audacity to say I'm insane."he chuckled.

Hana stood straight with her fingers still on the doorknob, not knowing what to do. Her mind was blank like she came back to life or was a newborn baby, completely clueless of her surroundings.

"If you leave right now, trust me you'll have to come back here again in a much worse situation. Maybe you'll come back here from the nearby mental asylum or maybe you won't even be able to leave from here. You're the first person who stayed here for this long let's not leave now hmm?" this was the longest he has ever spoken during her stay there.

"What is happening to me, I don't know anything, why was I here? What happened to me? Tell me please."Hana was on the verge of crying her heart out.
She felt frustrated and annoyed.

"Sit down and let's help each other hmm?"

Hana, without saying another word sat down on the cold floor again.
Surely the tables had turned, she was there to make him listen to her, to help him but it wasn't like that anymore.

"Do you remember what you were here for Hana?"he questioned making her think twice before saying,

"I... I don't remember," Hana admitted, feeling a sense of unease creeping over her. "I just know I was supposed to be here for something important, but now it feels like everything's slipping away."

Jaehyun nodded, his expression unreadable. "That's how it starts. The memories fade, the sense of purpose diminishes, and eventually, you're left questioning everything."

Hana's heart raced as she struggled to grasp onto any fragment of memory, but it felt like trying to catch smoke with her bare hands. "What do we do now?"

"We focus on the present," he replied, his voice surprisingly gentle. "We start from here and work our way forward. Together."

Hana felt a glimmer of hope amidst the confusion. "Together," she echoed, a newfound determination igniting within her.
Despite his calm demeanor, there was something unsettling about the way he looked at her, as if he could twist her thoughts at will.

"You seem troubled, Hana,"Jaehyun remarked, his voice smooth. "What thoughts are swirling around in that delicate mind of yours?"

Hana hesitated, unsure if she should tell her innermost thoughts to this stranger. But before she could respond,Jaehyun continued, his words dripping with manipulation.

"Perhaps you're wondering if you can trust me. Or maybe you're questioning your own sanity, wondering if any of this is real," he mused, a sly smile playing at the corners of his lips.

Hana's heart pounded in her chest as doubts began to cloud her mind. She couldn't shake off the feeling that Jaehyun was toying with her, using his words to mess with the fragile threads of her sanity.

"I-I don't know what to believe anymore," Hana admitted, her voice trembling with uncertainty.

Jaehyun's smile widened, a predatory gleam in his eyes. "Good," he purred. "That's exactly where I want you."

Another hour passed by and with each passing moment, Hana found herself sinking deeper into his twisted game, her thoughts becoming muddled and her sense of reality slipping away.

But amidst the chaos of her mind, a small voice whispered for her to resist, to fight back against the darkness that threatened to consume her. With a newfound determination, Hana squared her shoulders and met Jaehyun's gaze head-on.

"This doesn't seem right I don't belong here, I need to leave."she declared, standing up again.

Jaehyun's smile faltered for a moment, surprise flickering across his features before being replaced by a cold, calculating expression.

"We'll see about that, Hana," he replied, his tone sending shivers down her spine.

That's when Hana remembered that man's words from hours ago,

"Be careful miss, he can be quite manipulative. His words and actions can decieve you..."

This made hana stand up simultaneously, her memories were coming back it was all making sense now. From him asking her to stay to then not letting her leave when she wanted to, It was all his twisted game, just his manipulation, nothing else.
But despite her best efforts to resist, she couldn't shake off the feeling of fear that gripped her heart and she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as she made her way to the door.

But as she reached for the handle, Jaehyun's voice cut through the silence, "You think you can just walk away, Hana?" he sneered, his words sending shivers down her spine. "You'll be back. Sooner or later, you'll realize that you can't escape from here once you've entered willingly."

Hana's hands trembled as she turned to face Jaehyun, her heart pounding with fear. "I-I won't come back," she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper.

But Jaehyun's smile only widened, "We'll see about that," he said, his voice laced with menace. "You may think you're leaving, but you'll always belong here now, just like us all."

With a sinking feeling in her chest, Hana turned away from Jaehyun and fled into the hallway, his mocking laughter echoing in her ears. Though she tried to push aside his words, she couldn't shake off the feeling that he was right-that no matter how hard she tried to escape, Jaehyun's influence would always linger, a shadow haunting her every step.

As she made her way out of the mental asylum, Hana couldn't help but wonder if Jaehyun's words held some truth. But deep down, she knew that she couldn't let fear and manipulation dictate her actions.
