Okay, so maybe he hadn't made the best decisions that day. But can you blame him? They were going to be filming a really fun sports episode for Stay, how could he miss out on that? Maybe getting sick would hold him back. Maybe.
But no.
When Minho peeled his eyes open that morning and found a deep pain set right behind his eyes, his throat burning with every breath he took, and his whole body weak and shaky, he knew he should just text Chan and their manager and stay in bed.
But when Han bounded into his room, all logical, sane, good ideas were gone.
"Minho hyung, get up!" Han exclaimed, jumping on the bed beside the elder. Shaking his arms roughly, Han smiled like a five-year-old waking his parents on Christmas morning. Minho had to give it to him, what Han lacked in sports talent, he made up for in enthusiasm. "Forty-five minutes and then the van will be here. Come on!" Han jumped off the bed, sprinting out the room to probably go jump on another tired hyung.
Minho groaned, rolling to look at his clock. 6:16am. This was going to be a really long day.
But maybe a shower and water would help.
It didn't - as Minho expected. Just his luck that he was coming down with something when they were going to have a full day of filming. It couldn't have been just a normal practice day he could probably get out of. He would have even been fine with going to a full day's schedule if there wouldn't be cameras. But Stays were attentive - if they thought there was the slightest thing off about him, they'd - lovingly - make him a trending topic on Twitter with the hashtag 'get well soon Lee Know'.
He couldn't let that happen. Although he knew that their stylist's would be applying plenty of makeup at the filming site, he grabbed the concealer stuffed in the bathroom cabinet and applied it generous to the grey rings under his eyes. It looked cakey, and it made his skin feel gross. But it at least covered the exhausted zombie look. Now he just had to pretend he didn't feel like an exhausted zombie.
Easier said than done when he opened the bathroom door and Felix and Chan were wrestling in the living room, Changbin was singing OMG by New Jeans while Jeongin was burning eggs on the stove. Han and Seungmin were missing in action and somehow Hyunjin was sleeping on the couch through all the chaos.
The sound hurt Minho's ears so he retreated to his room to hide for the remainder of the morning until the van arrived.
The van ride wasn't any better. There was a ten minute argument as to what music they should play and eventually their manager told them to shut up and picked the music on his own - some peaceful piano music.
So, of course, the members entertained themselves another way - jello.
Minho hated every second of it.
When they finally arrived at the filming site, his head was threatening to split open and his eyes were about to pop out of their sockets from the sheer pressure building inside. Not to mention he wasn't sure how long his legs would hold him up. They were threatening to buckle with every step he took and they shook whenever he stood still. Fortunately, he had on a pair of baggy sweatpants so no one could see the tremor.
Still, that didn't make him feel any better.
They were in a large gym facility with a room the size of three basketball courts. Minho picked the far corner and sat down, closing his eyes to try to decrease the pressure building inside his head.
"Um, excuse me." Minho squinted an eye open to find a girl with the JYPE staff t-shirt on. If she didn't, Minho was sure she would have been some freshman in high school who somehow snuck in - she looked incredibly young. "I'm supposed to do your makeup, Mr. Lee." She spoke again, pinching her lips together in a cute way that revealed how awkward she felt.
