Seungmin slammed the door shut behind him and leaned his full weight against it. Finally, he could catch his breath. He hadn't been running though. No, he'd had his breath held almost the entire time he was with her. He was always afraid he'd do something wrong - he was an idol, part of the job was appearing perfect - but when he was around her, the fear was so intense he was worried he might breathe too loudly, and she'd get upset.
It wouldn't be so bad if it was just an annoyed eyeroll or even a scolding - that he could handle. But his cheek stung so badly that his right eye was a watery mess.
Seungmin exhaled for a few seconds before regaining his composure and walking to the sink. He'd gone to the handicap bathroom, knowing he'd be alone and safe in here. It was his hideout - seemingly the only place she wouldn't see him do something wrong. Though, there were times that he would be gone too long and suddenly some part of his body would be stinging with her harsh touch.
He stared at his cheek in the mirror. It was bright red, a stark contrast from his left cheek. He wiped his eye, shooing the tears away before he grabbed a paper towel and wet it in icy sink water, holding it tightly against his stinging cheek.
Maybe he could forgive her for one time. Everyone loses their temper. Seungmin had to admit, even he had slapped some of his members before for annoying him or hit them during intense arguments. He always apologized immediately after though and never repeated the mistake.
But she didn't apologize. And she didn't stop.
It had been going on for five months.
He'd learned to hide it - though he wasn't entirely sure why he needed to. Something in him told him it wasn't a big deal, that she never did anything really detrimental. Another part of him thought that maybe he was weak with his inability to defend himself. He never said a word to her about it. She was his superior in the company, the head stylist, it wasn't his place to argue with her though deep down he knew it wasn't arguing but rather standing up for himself.
And the last part in him stayed silent for his members. She was the styling supervisor - she worked closely with all eight members. If she took her anger out on him, and it saved the rest of the members from being scolded and hit, then he'd happily take the brunt of her emotions. Besides, the slaps only stung for a few minutes and the marks always faded. The guilt of putting that on another member though would hurt forever and always.
So, Seungmin threw the paper towel away and left the bathroom like nothing happened.
"Oh my god, they're seriously letting us drink soju on camera?" Minho exclaimed, holding up the little shot glass that was set out in front of him.
"I guess so. Otherwise, they wouldn't have set it out." Chan shrugged, taking his seat at the end of the table.
"Sweet!" Han exclaimed and plopped down into the cushion on the floor for him. He immediately took a shot and slammed the glass back on the table, making a face a toddler makes when they try broccoli.
"Did you forget you hate soju?" Hyunjin laughed, sitting beside Han.
"Shut up." The younger rapper huffed, playfully punching the elder's arm.
"Well, I for one love soju." Seungmin smiled, taking his seat on Hyunjin's other side beside Jeongin and pulling his glass closer to himself. To prove his point, he took the shot and smirked at Han who gave him an irritated expression.
