It was like the world had gone dead. Not a sound to hear. Eckhart glanced around, everything was normal except the noises of everything was gone. It was new, but quite nice for Eckhart. He walked back home. It was about 10am when he head back home. He tipped his head down and ignored the world.
People. People were starting to panic. They were running around doing anything to make a noise. Eckhart never glanced up and only looked at the ground. He never realized anything but.... the headphones he had on released a gas that was a homemade disease.
How? No one knew. Eckhart reached his neighbourhood and went down his street. He took of the headphones. It was quiet. For once. He put the headphones back on and entered his home. He went downstairs to his room and just read and listened to music. Deep breaths and pages flipping he found peace.
His parents and sisters were panicking upstairs. They couldn't hear anything and did everything to make some. They all thought they all gone deaf for a bit. Eckhart is just chilling and eventually his family came down to his room. They shook him vigorously.
"WHAT? IM TRYING RELAX!" He blurted loudly. His family tried speaking but no noise came out of their mouths. Eckhart was confused, he didn't understand why they wouldn't say anything.
"Can you speak please? Stop screwing around." He asked. Still nothing. One of his sisters sent him a text.
(WE CANT SPEAK!!!!!)
"What the hack you all mean you can't speak?"
(WE RE MUTE!!!)
"How? Did you scream at each other because you stole each other's eyeliner?"
.
.
.
.
(Eckhart we literally can't speak for no reason suddenly)
"When this start happening?" Eckhart asks. His mother tried to pronounce now, but silence. He had a pretty good guess that it was now by the movement of his mother's lips. He felt like his family went insane. But it all started to connect now. The headphones he got did something to his family.
He got up and looked at the headphones in his hand. He took a close look at them. There was some sort of vents on them which had a humidifier in them. It had a substance that misted into the air around him.
"How did this not affect me?" He whispered to himself. His sister tapped the top of his head. He turned around and saw his sisters pointing to the top of their heads. He jogged to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. There was a device that was attached to him on top of his head.
"How did I not feel that?" He questioned in fear. He looked on the inside of the headphones. There was a slot that fitted the device perfectly. He tried to take it off. But it only pulled his skin and hair which he yelped in pain.
"No this can't be happening. I-if I didn't take these STUPID HEADPHONES!!! None of this would've happened............. It's. It's all my fault." He felt like he was drowning in sorrow and regret. His dad put his hand on is shoulder as comfort.
Eckhart lifted his head from his hands. He looked deeply in his father's eyes. He got up and started to go outside. His family followed him as his sisters posted about there muteness on Instantgram. (I don't want to get a copyright warning) He grabbed the keys to his dad's truck. His father grabbed him and tried to ask where he was going.
"If you're trying to ask me where I'm going, I'm going to fix this." He explained. He released his wrist from his father's grasp. Got into the truck. And drove out to the city. He was going to find the psychopath that did this.
