The airport was crowded like always and the fact that I had only seen the kid once was not very helpful. I knew I was looking for a 15 year old boy with blonde hair...makes me sound like a pedophile. Shaking my head, I study everyone that walks off the flight Norman said he was on. Maybe I should've made a sign. Trying to spot a specific kid in an airport was like playing a really intense game of "Where's Waldo." Running a hand through my hair, I started getting very nervous and anxious. What if I missed him? What if I can't find him? Then i'd have to explain to Norman how I lost his kid. My eyes searched everywhere until a voice cam from behind me,
"Melody?"I turned around and a sigh of relief flew through me as I saw the blonde hair and blue eyed boy starring back at me with his backpack on his shoulder,
"Oh.. Mingus thank god"
He chuckled and then looked down nervously to the ground and then back up at me. Seemed to be a habit he learned from his father,
"Dad called and said you were picking me up."
"Yea, hope that's ok" I smiled.
"Yea, better than getting swarmed by people when he walks in the door" he said.
I smiled and nodded as I led him out to the car and we started down the road. Realizing I had never actually been to Norman's house, he gave me directions.
"So you and dad are close now right?" he asked.
I blushed, "I guess you could say that."
"About time" he joked.
"what do you mean?" I asked.
"Dad's dated weirdos in the past. About time he got a normal one for a change" he smirked.
I looked over at him and then back to the road, "how do you know I'm normal?"
"you didn't freak out or scream when you first met him" he laughed, "you just made a weird face"
"Well yea! you kinda forgot to mention your dad is freaking daryl Dixon!" I exclaimed causing him to laugh.
"yea, but it's funny to see people's reaction" he smiled.
"whatever ming" I joked.
about 10 minutes later, we pulled into this long driveway covered by beautiful trees. The stone driveway was smooth and a beautiful two story house appeared at the end of it. There were windows all over the house and what looks like a deck on the top of the house. I was in complete awe as I brought my car to a stop and we got out. I felt my mouth drop open starring at the huge home. I was broken out of my daze when I heard mingus chuckle,
"might want to close your mouth before you get drool all over your shirt"
I stuck my tongue out at him as we entered the place. The place was even larger inside. The walls were white and the floor was hard wood. The amount of windows making it seem more open and more peaceful. Mingus set is backpack on the couch as I mesmerized Norman's home. Mingus set his stuff down and then asked,
"want to hang out or you have things today?" He asked.
i came out of my daze and looked back at the boy who so much resembled his father. I thought back to Gwen and thought I maybe should be home with her, but decided to give her time. I smiled,
"I've got no plans. What ya wanna do?"
"Umm you play video games?" He asked.
"Depends on what games" I smirked.
