I smile at Renée sleeping peacefully in my arms. Last night was magical. I know it sounds cliché, but it was. I never thought having sex would be so good. Renée's phone make a loud sound. Her eyes fly open in surprise. Her light brown eyes look at me lovingly. I hope she never has to leave. She kisses my cheek and sits up so she can take a look at her phone.
Her tump makes a few movements on her screen and she starts reading something. Her eyes scan the words on the little screen. She holds a hand up to her mouth in surprise. 'What is it?' I ask curiously. Renée looks at me for a second and continues reading. 'I got accepted. They expect me next week to get me orientated.'
My heart drops and I could start crying, instead I force a smile on my face. 'I am happy for you,' I say as happy as possible. Renée smiles and kisses me. She starts hugging me and sighs. I hug her back, holding back my tears. 'You hoped I wouldn't get in, didn't you?' she whispers. 'Yes,' I whisper back. She kisses my cheek and lets me go.
'I am going to call my dad.' And with that she goes outside. I see her pacing past the window. Her smile gets bigger and bigger with every word she speaks. When I see that smile I feel bad about my feelings. What was I thinking not wanting her to go? She deserves the best, even more than that.
Renée comes back inside, smiling. 'I am really happy,' she carefully says. 'I am happy for you too.' Renée's face gets serious and she takes a seat on the edge of the bed. 'But I need to leave early.' 'You can't stay for another two days?' Renée shakes her head. 'My dad wants me to pack and take my time, not rushing it.' I nod slowly.
Everything else she says or my parents is one big blur. Before I know it I see Renée take a seat in the taxi. She waves at me before the car drives away. My mother hugs me and silent tears stream down my face.
