I hopped onto the bus, early the next morning. Bucky had clearly disappeared somewhere during the night, because when I woke up, I was all alone. The bus driver and I made a friendly agreement that in the mornings, if I get on early, and just drive with him from place to place, helping elders get on the bus, I can drive for free. I would freely help the elders, while still paying, but the bus driver insisted.
We reached the last stop, near the compound. I said my goodbye to Stan (the amazing bus driver) and walked off to work. I looked at my watch, only 07:34. I took my time walking, since I didn't need to be early today.
I saw Steve and Bucky train outside on the yard. Bucky had his hair up in a bun, making him seem a tad-bit more handsome looking. He wore his black and silver suit, that looked quite good on him. Steve wore a basic blue shirt with some training pants.
"Morning guys!" I greeted as I walked onto the walkway to the door. The two stopped and looked me. Bucky stood behind Steve, giving me a smirk.
"Morning Amber!" Steve greeted, waving at me.
I giggled and just smiled as I walked into the compound.
Steve turned to Bucky and smiled. "She's not bad looking," he smiled looking at Bucky. Bucky scoffed, earning a confused look from Steve. "What?" he asked bending down to pick up a towel.
"Tony has dating rules," Bucky said in a serious tone.
Steve stood back up straight, throwing the towel over his shoulder. "What he doesn't know won't hurt him, will it?" Steve said, sounding like he was joking.
"And here I thought you were the non-flirting one." Bucky chuckled.
Steve looked at him and smiled. "Well, I've changed remember? It's been seventy years," he laughed, standing ready to fight. "You anyways got that hot girl from the bar, since you came home at one."
"Yeah, I do," Bucky smiled, looking at the windows, seeing me.
They continued to train, Bucky getting more and more serious. I stood at the window on the second floor, watching them fight. Bucky really got serious, moving faster, and getting rougher. Steve followed his actions and started getting rougher too. Man, they sure knew how to fight. After a while Steve's shirt accidentally got ripped, and he pulled it off.
Natasha stood behind me, seeing me watch them train.
"He had to throw a lower punch," I said, not looking at her.
Confused she looked me, then back at the two soldiers. "Who?"
"James. If he threw a lower punch, he could easily have hit Steve between the chest and the stomach, hitting him to fall back," I said, unbothered by her presence. "Instead, he threw a higher punch that hit Steve on his chest, having a lot smaller effect," I said, staring them.
Natasha imagined the two and my situation. She looked at me, shocked. "You know how to fight?" she asked sitting down next to me on a chair.
"Oh yeah, a little" I said, looking at her for the first. "I had a tough childhood. I wasn't a lucky kid, except for my brilliant mind, as one might say. I learned how to fight since I was at least eight," I said sighing, stood up and smiled. "I gotta go work," I said with a smile, before walking off. Natasha sat there, still processing my answer.
I walked to Tony's office, where he was working on a drone. "Oh, I'm glad to see you," he said looking at me. "These drones won't start, I tried everything" he said looking down at a paper.
"What about we plug them in and charge them?" I asked looking at him. Tony froze. He looked at me and frowned. I smiled; a bit proud of myself. He turned around to Bruce, who stood in the back, lifting his shoulders. "We used them a lot yesterday, maybe they ran out of battery?" I said again, sitting down, crossed legs on a chair near the tables.
Silently Tony took the three drones and walked out of the office, leaving me chuckling. Bruce burst out in laughter, looking at me.
"How are you that good?" he asked as he started swiping on a screen in the air. "No one out-smarts Tony." He laughed again, looking at me.
My phone vibrated in my pocket, driving me crazy. I pulled out my phone, rolling my eyes at the screen. "Tony never charged them, even before we tested them," I said seeing my texts.
Bruce laughed again, turning to another screen. "You're good with technology, how so?" he asked looking as I put my phone back in my pocket.
"My, so called dad, was a technician. I enjoyed watching him work. I always tweaked on stuff at home. I went to college at sixteen and took on a tech major," I smiled, earning a surprised look from him.
"Sixteen?" he asked, not believing me.
I chuckled and stood up. "Yeah, I did," I said before walking out of the room.
I headed down the kitchen through the empty hallway. The tiled floors were soundless against my shoes. There were a couple of doors that were all shut, like usual. I always guessed that they were the bedrooms. I walked further down the soundless hall when someone grabbed me around my mouth again and pulled me into the same closet.
"I'm ganna bite you again," I mumbled as I felt his cold metal hand over my mouth.
He was in front of me, holding his other hand around my waist. Bucky chuckled and let go of me. "Hi Doll," he said, before giving me a kiss. His hand was on my chin, holding me to look up at him.
"Hi James." I smiled looking at his eyes.
"You know, you looked pretty gorgeous this morning," he complimented, moving his other hand to my waist, pulling me closer to him.
"Didn't look to bad yourself," I whispered, throwing my hands around his neck.
He kissed me again, passionately. He pushed me against the closet wall, holding my waist. Our tongues were colliding, and we felt satisfied. My hands ventured into his long soft hair, curling it around my fingers. He slowly and gently started kissing my neck. I threw my head back, taking deep breaths.
"J- James..." I whispered in between my silent moans. "We're at w- work..." I giggled, his lips sucking my neck.
I took a deep breath as he pulled back, smiling down at me. "Now you're marked." He smiled, sending panic into my body.
"What?" I asked confused. "You gave me a hickey?" I asked surprised, grabbing my neck. "James!" I whisper-yelled. "I am at work!" I pulled out my phone, turning on the selfie camera, looking at my neck.
He snuck up behind me, smiling at the screen. "Selfie?" he whispered, holding me around my waist.
I gave a light smile and turned my phone to the side. He kissed my cheek, making my smile brighten. I took the photo and smiled when I saw it. He looked so cute from the side with his lips crashed into my cheek.
"Now I have to go!" I said, turning around to face him. "I have work." He kissed me, before letting me go.
I slowly opened the door, not seeing anyone in sight.
