I woke up. This time I was pulled to my feet by a person. Steve.

“What?” I asked in alert, suddenly losing all of my tiredness, seeing alert in his eyes.

“We need to go! He’s selling you out again. They’re coming any minute now!” Steve said, grabbing my hand.

In speed he ran to the doors of the room, pulling me out and down the stairs. I could see Natasha and Bucky run as well, the blond with them.

“Where’s Sam?” Steve yelled as we joined them down the hallway.

“Already in the car!” Bucky yelled, just as he pushed the compound doors open, letting us run out.

I didn’t know what was going on. Yeah, I was no longer under the influence of drugs, but this was all so fast. I couldn’t focus.

Suddenly Rhodey dropped in front of us, in his suit. “Don’t do this again Cap. It’s not going to end well.”

Steve sighed. “Rhodey you know what he’s doing is wrong. You know it.”

Rhodey shook his head. “It’ll keep her safe.”

“From whom?” Bucky asked rhetorically. “From Tony?”

Rhodey sighed. “Don’t take her-”

Without waiting another second, the blond lift her hand, sending a blast into Rhodey, sending him flying back. She grabbed my hand, pulling me past Rhodey as he grunted on the yard. Steve took my other hand, letting the woman let go of the other. He pushed me into the car, while Natasha, Bucky and the blond got in as well, with Steve and Sam in the front seats. Even before all the doors were shut, Sam pressed gas, rushing off into the streets. It was night-time already, and if the car told the right time, ‘21:47’.

“We need to get somewhere unlocated,” Bucky said, checking behind us, making sure no one was following us.

“Somewhere that Tony or any of the other’s don’t know about.”

“What is all this about?” I asked in alert, confused.

Natasha turned to me. “Tony called the government, letting them know that you were found. He let them know that they can come get you. When he consulted us we ran for it. He warned us that we will no longer be allowed back if we went forward with this, but we had no choice.”

Suddenly grabbed my chest in panic. “My necklace! Where is my necklace!” I yelled, my eyes wide and my heartbeat risen.

The blond took my hand off my chest and opened it, grabbing my attention. She suddenly lowered a chain into my hand, giving me my necklace. I smiled.

“Oh, thank god!” I said in relief, staring at the sunflower. “You’re an absolute life saver!”
She smiled. “I’m Carol. Carol Danvers. Captain Marvel.”

“Melion Aideen Kavan,” I introduced back. She chuckled. “The white witch. It’s a long story,” I whispered, making her understand.

“Hey?” Sam yelled, looking at us in the mirror. “Place to stay? Any ideas?”

I went quiet as the others spat ideas. I mean, would my place be okay? It was off in the middle of nowhere. Safe. Secure. But yet then I’d have a lot of explaining to do. I wasn’t ready, but yet I had no choice. Even if my life would fall into shreds, I could not have risk us getting caught.

“Turn right!” I yelled, sending everyone quiet and Sam into alert.

He immediately swerved right, heading straight towards the woods. Everyone looked at me, interested.

“I live in the woods. There’s a house down the road on the left. We can stay there. It’s quiet, off the grid, secure, no one lives near me and it’s completely safe.” Everyone smiled, but yet they were surprised by my next words: “Please just know that what you see next changes your view of me.”

They went silent. “Nothing could change our view of you,” Natasha said, placing her hand on my leg.

“This will. I’ll explain what happened later, it’s just-”

“What do you mean?” Steve asked just as we entered the woods.

I took a deep breath. “I’m not the same person as who I was. You have to understand that. Five years changed me completely. You’d be shocked.”

I turned to Bucky who looked at me in confusion. “Please, all of you, promise me you won’t get mad or pissed at me? Please?”

Immediately they all agreed, not knowing what lied ahead.
