[A SHORT STORY!!]
"JACE!" In came yelling was Verse. She was 8 and extremely obsessed with Jace. I think she saw him as a father figure and not like Kylie did.
"How are you Star?" Jace asked her as he picked her up. Verse was a nerd for stars. She loved them and Jace taught her about them.
"You better got me a good present." She huffed as we laughed. It was Christmas and we were celebrating at my parents house.
"Vicky! Jace!" My mom came in ecstatic to see us. We were busy with being new parents either our daughter Ashley. Ashley was in her stroller as we walked to the living room. Verse was still in Jaces arms, we entered the room with Jade and her now husband Malik sitting with dad.
"How my favorite niece!" Jade ran over instantly engulfed in Ashley.
"She's your only niece."
"My best one! Malik we should have one."
"Uh what!" Jade laughed at his nervousness as he didn't know how to respond.
"Be sure because she keeps me up all night." I sighed as I looked at mine and Jaces beautiful daughter. She was truly the light of my life. She my blonde hair but Jaces eyes.
"ASHLEYS FAVORITE UNCLE IS HERE!!" Jaden came busting in announcing he was better than Jade.
"B*tch I'm Ashley's favorite!" Jade and Jaden started bickering like always. They have not changed one bit. Asher slyly snuck his way in and played with Ashley.
"Why can't I open my present now?" Verse asked Jace as they sat next to the tree.
"You have to wait for your mom Star." I giggled at how cute they were together. Jace definitely treated her like a daughter. I picked up Ashley and she tried to fight to be put down. I looked at my dad who seemed sad while looking at Jace and Verse.
"You ok dad?" I asked him as I sat down next to him with Ashley.
"Yeah." He gave me a weak smile and I knew he was lying. My dad didn't despise Jace for being close to Verse but it definitely made him sad.
"She's like a second daughter to you guys and I love it. It's just sometimes we connected with her like that." I looked at my dad guilty. I definitely saw Verse more as a daughter than a sister but I still want her to see how incredible mom and dad are.
"She'll always love you like the rest of us do." My dad smiled at me and looked at his family.
"Any words from Kylie?" I shook my head looking down at Ashley sleeping in my arms. My dad sighed as he looked down at is lap.
"I wish she would just come home."
"Me too dad."
...
"A TELESCOPE!!!" Verse yelled out in excitement as she opened mine and Jaces present. She jumped up excited.
"I WANNA USE IT NOW!!" She tried to pick it up and was to weak. Jade laughed as she helped Verse with the telescope. Verse ran and gave both me and Jace a hug.
"I love you both." She said as she ran back to the telescope.
"Grow up so I can spoil you." Jace said to Ashley as she sat there staring at him confused. I laughed he was amazing with our daughter. He was the perfect dad and I love him.
"Well you might have to spoil two." I said to him and he looked shocked.
"I'm going to be a dad again!" I nodded as he kissed me.
"I love you so f**king much V."
"I love you too Jace." I laughed, I felt happy with my perfect small family. I was with my family and the love of my life and that was enough for me.
