P.O.V. : Emily

Time: 3:15 A.M.

The sound of a loud crash wakes me up in the middle of the night. I'm extremely tired, it feels like I just fell asleep but I know it's been at least 3 hours. I decide to check my phone to see what time it is. It's way too early in the morning to be up. Part of me doesn't even want to get out of bed. To be honest, I get scared quite easily and most of the time it's just my imagination getting the best of me. About a minute passes when I finally decide to check the hallway to see what's going on.

Everything seems normal at first, but I notice that at the end of the hallway my parents door is slightly opened. To you that may seem like nothing, but my parents always kept their door shut at night, it was a pet peeve my Mother had. I slowly make my way to the end of the hall. I have a feeling something is horribly wrong. I don't stop moving though. It's like I have to see what's going on in order to prove to myself that everything is okay. I hate being so curious. The door being open should have already been a clear sign to not enter their room, but I do anyways.

I'm speechless. At the end of my parents bed I notice a tall man dressed in all black, like a shadow. I can't do anything. I wanna scream and run for dear life but I'm in total shock. I can't even see his face clearly since it's still dark out.

"Listen, you can take whatever you want, just don't hurt my family."

I say this very slow, that way the man can register every word I'm saying. This doesn't stop the man from taking a step towards me though. That's it. I immediately bolt for the door. Big mistake. I had no clue that guy had another friend waiting behind the door. There's no way out now, and all my options seem to fade away. There's always the chance of me being able to jump out the window, but knowing me, I'd manage to die from the fall. I guess those two guys didn't like my argument, because the next thing I know, my head feels like it's about to explode. I fall over, and that's when everything goes dark.
