Days since the Parkers have gone missing: 2

I only have 12 minutes to make it in time to question Emily. I had just been told that I'm going to be working on this case just last night. I tried to gather as much information about the Parker family with the little time I had last night. I only managed to gather some basic information so far. There's Regina Parker, age 38, works as an elementary school nurse. Then there's Malcolm Parker, age 40, owns his own grocery delivery service. Lastly there's Emily Parker, age 16, the only child of the family and is a full time student with phenomenal grades. They seem like a completely normal family. who would want to do this to them?

I make it into room 403B, the room Emily is staying in just on time. I try my best to give Emily the friendliest smile I can manage when I walk in. The nurse is just finishing up Emily's blood work so I wait until the nurse is done before I begin. Once the nurse leaves, I pull up a chair close to the end of Emily's bed and begin the interrogation. I start off with some easy questions first. She seems nervous. I'm trying my best not to scare her, but I guess it's not working. Then again, her Parents are missing so that might be it. Already I can tell she's honest and she also didn't have something to do with this. She could have easily injured herself and covered the whole story up, but that doesn't seem like the case here.

I try to get as much information about what the two guys looked like and everything I felt necessary to know about her parents. she tells me both of the men were fairly tall, and she couldn't see their faces because they were wearing all black, plus it was dark. I ask her if she would know anyone that disliked her family. She couldn't think of anyone.

"My parents are caring people. They know almost everyone in town because of their jobs, but I don't think that any of Dad's customers or Mom's sickly kids or school staff would want to hurt either of them."

This sucks. I guess I'm going to have to a lot more investigating and research than I had originally planned. There's no point in waisting Emily's time so I tell her that she'll hear from me as soon as I get more information. Before I can leave, Emily decides it's her turn to ask me a question.

"What are the chances my parents are still alive?"

I wasn't expecting that.
