P.O.V. : Sasha Grey
Time: 4:32 P.M.
Days since the Parker's have been missing: 6
I know I told Emily a few days earlier that the chances of finding her parents were slim, but I'm really starting to have my doubts now. Most people are guaranteed dead after the first 48 hours. I've put several hours of research under my belt so far, yet I still feel like I've gotten nowhere in this investigation.
Just then, there's a soft knock at my door. The door opens and detective Rivers paces in. Rivers and I go way back. We graduated together from the academy, and after that we were assigned as partners. Rivers and I are total opposites. He was more laid back and he was incredibly funny. Then there's me, incredibly sassy and in your face. The chances of me backing down are slim to none. I'm still trying to learn how to be as kind as Rivers.
"Are you having just as much trouble as I am with this case?"
I nod. Rivers is ranting how some things don't meet up. He's right. I know for sure someone isn't speaking up about something. As much as I want to blame the Aunt, everything checks out with her. Claire was working the night shift when her brother and sister-in-law went missing. I tell Rivers how the aunt thinks I'm unqualified to be participating in this case. He laughs.
"She just doesn't know you Grey. Don't worry about it. You'll prover her wrong when you pretty much single handily find the Parker's."
Rivers always knows what to say. I'm not paying much attention to Rivers anymore. I think about what back to what I already know. I'm pretty sure about Regina's coworkers wouldn't want to hurt her. What about Malcolm though? I have a feeling his customers wouldn't hurt him and his wife, but what about his employees? An idea sparks.
" Rivers, I just thought of something that we should have done days ago. Can you do a background check on all of Malcolm's workers. Maybe they had something to do with this."
" This is why we need you on this case Grey!"
Rivers rushes out of the room. Just as Rivers leaves, detective Ross struts in. God I hate him. He's arrogant and annoying. Ross also graduated when Rivers and I did. He was at the top of our class, but he cheated his way to the top. Rivers and I worked incredibly hard to get to where we are today. My thoughts are cut off since he decides to open that despicable mouth of his.
" Hey Blondie, why is Rivers leaving so quickly?"
"He's doing a background check on Mr. Parker's workers," I mention.
Rivers walks back in before Ross can say anything else. Thank God. I ask Rivers about his findings and he has a huge smirk on his face.
" There are two workers that came up, that could be potential suspects."
"Well spit it out already Rivers," Ross barks.
"Their names are Richard Voss, and Andrew Rogers."
Once Rivers tells us the information we need to know, we all decide to check out Richard and Andrew. Ross agrees to checkout Mr. Voss while Rivers and I pay Andrew Rogers a little visit. I have a good feeling about this.
" Well let's not waste anymore time. We have bad guys to catch," I say as I'm grabbing my car keys.
