CDC Pt. 5

We made it to the CDC, it was tough for all of us. We didn't only lose people to the walkers, Jim got worse and he wanted to be left in the side of the road. So we did, it's what he wanted.

Morales, his wife and 2 kids left to go somewhere else, off in search of the rest of their family.

So now it's me, Carl, Lori, Rick, Carol, Sophia, Jacqui, Daryl, Shane, Glenn, Dale, Andrea and Dr. Jenner, who let us in at the CDC.

It's nasty outside, hundreds of dead, stinky walkers. Dr. Jenner almost didn't let us in, i'm so happy he did though.

Walkers started stirring and if Jenner would've left us out there we'd be dead.

He's the only one left of the scientist and anyone else that was here. He has this computer called Vi, it controls pretty much everything.

We all sit around a table, I'm sitting in between Lori and Carl and we're all having dinner with Jenner. Everyone's drinking wine and Dale suggests me and Carl taste some. Lori's reluctant at first but, she eventually lets us.

Carl takes a sip first and scrunches his face like he just ate a lemon, "ewwwww".

"That's my boy," Lori says laughing and pouring the rest in her glass.

I take a sip, and squeeze my eyes shut. It tastes sour, and rotten. I put the cup down and wipe my mouth, "Thats disgusting".

Everyone laughs and continues eating and making cheers, Dr. Jenner tells the story of why he's the only one left. I don't pay much attention though.

Marcus would love this, sitting with a bunch of people, acting like a family, enjoying a meal.

After we eat, Jenner shows us around and told us that there's hot water to shower and a rec room down the hall. Everyone shows and afterwards me and Carl go down to the Rec room. There's Tons of books, enough to last a life time. I grab a few and put them in my bag, i'm sure no one will notice.

Me and Carl sit at a table and play checkers until Carol and Sophia go off to bed, Lori says it's time for us to sleep too. We go off to our room and lay down.

Tonight was different though, we didn't just go to bed. We sat and talked, we talked and talked. Carl says that he misses before the outbreak, i told him i do too.

He talks about how he used to have a teacher that he loved, her name was Judith.

We eventually fall asleep. Maybe tomorrow we'll play more Checkers.
