Steve Rogers x Reader .:Stay Safe For Me:.

I could feel the tears welling in my eyes. Steve had tried to enlist again but this time, a doctor had chosen him for a special position. I know its selfish but how am I supposed to feel? My best friend was now going into war with soldiers 3x his size. I thought about how Bucky might be able to help Steve out but they wouldn't be stationed together. Sighing i stripped myself of my (F/C) dress and heels. let my hair out of its pins, and laid down in my bed, looking at the photo of Steve and I getting soaked by Bucky's bucket of water while we had been washing my Fathers car.

"If he dies I'm going to kill him..." I whispered before closing my eyes and slowly falling asleep.

The next day i got ready, ate a piece of toast and headed to the library. After finding a good book, i sat down at a table and began to read. I didn't notice the tears falling down my face until they hit the pages. Leave it to me to read a romance novel about a soldier while my best friend was doing god knows what on a military base..

I stared up at the ceiling and sighed. Why was I here? Nobody even knew if the serum would work and here I am waiting to get jabbed at with a thousand needles and I might not even change. To think I could be at home helping (Y/N) finish painting the outside of her house or fixing the leak in her sink. God I am going to miss her so much. Not that I thought she couldn't handle herself. She's a strong woman and she could handle situations but that doesn't mean I had to just stand by and watch. I want to help her and show her I care i mean she's the only think I've got and closest I have ever had to love. I can't lose her just because I'm away.
"I'll just sleep... I've got a rough day tomorrow.." I sighed and rubbed my eyes. Lets just hope for the best...
