Out in the endless field of tall, yellow grass were two female Hyenas: An adult, and a child. Both wore Cheetah print clothing, the top and the skirt, but the mother also had a necklace on composed of canine teeth and black beads. She bore a serious and unforgiving expression on her face while her daughter looked like she just wanted to cry.
"<I hate this!>" The daughter was covered in dirt and scratches.
"<Grow a pair, Serena!>" She points at Serena's flat chest, apathetic towards her discomfort. "<You're a female, for fuck's sake. Act like it!>"
"<I wanna go home! This sucks!>"
"<My daughter will not be a quitter!>" She knees Serena's chest and watches her collapse. "<You aren't going home until you land a scratch on me. Now get up; you look disgraceful.>" She just looks at her daughter as her lungs struggle to regain air. "<Get up, Serena.>"
Fast forward to the moment of physical contact she had with Kyle, and she found herself unable to remove herself from his loving touch.
"<Serena!>"
There was no pain; no deception; no lesson to be taught. Life was perfectly calm for that singular moment in time.
"<Serena!>" The queen shouts from her throne made of chiseled stone. "<What the hell is wrong with you?>"
"<I->" Serena didn't even know what to do in the current moment. "<I'm sorry, my queen.>"
"<What happened between you two earlier?>"
"<Uh...>" That tiny sliver of physical contact entered her mind once more, and made her cheeks puff up involuntarily. "<I->"
"<Oh my god, did you fuck him?>"
"<What!? No! Nothing like that happened!>"
"<Then spit it out, woman!>"
Serena takes a quick moment to prepare herself.
"<He was so dehydrated; I guess he thought I was someone named 'Alex'.>"
"<Alex?>"
"<Yeah. I kept hearing him say that in his language. Alex this, Alex that.>"
"<So, he thinks you're this 'Alex'. How is that important?>"
"<He...>" She covers her eyes in embarrassment; something that excites the queen. "<Oh god...he...>" Her ears go flat. "<...held my hand and cheek....>
The guard that was in the same room with her looked like she was suppressing a laugh.
"<...and she liked it.>"
"<No I didn't! Shut the fuck up!>" She says, taking an offensive stance towards the guard.
"<It sounds to me like you did.>" The queen's calm brown eyes did not remove themselves from Serena's puffy blush. "<But that's irrelevant right now. Can you tell me anything else?>"
"<Well, he stopped touching me when he came to his senses. Looked awfully bummed out too.>"
Once more the guard just had to chime in.
"<So did you~>" She says cheerfully.
"<I swear to god->"
"<Shut up!>" The queen raises a hand. "<If I wanted to hear you two bicker, I'd ask for it. What matters now is information related to the sky dweller.>"
"<That's pretty much all that happened.>" Serena says. "<So, am I off sky dweller duty now that he's fine?>"
"<Your orders are to care for him until he is completely recovered. Last I checked, he was still covered in purple.>"
"<Wait. I have to help him until he recovers from the initiation, too?>" Serena's hands ball into fists. "<But that could take months!>"
"<Well, then, you should be happy!>" Her perfectly suppressed laughter started to fail. "<You'll have all the time in the world for him to touch you like the good male you are!>" The room erupts into laughter, much to Serena's disapproval. Fortunately, the queen waved her off, which she gladly took advantage of.
"<I am not a male...>" The image of his disapproving face of revelation comes to mind. '<Not like he wants to touch me, anyway...>' As much as she tried to suppress it, that look of his did disappoint her to some degree.
