Helping Her - The Rookie

Chapter Three

Saturday

Tim: "Tamara, no. You can stay with us. You are so helpful; you are happy to go shopping for us and cook us dinner when we are going to be home late. If you want to stay here, you can." Tamara nods. Lucy came and joined in on the hug, then she pulled back.

Lucy: "I have finished my shift for the night. Let's all go to bed." Tim got up, then place Tamara on her bed, but she wouldn't let go.

Tim: "You know you can let go." She still didn't.

Lucy: "Do you want to stay with us?" She nods. Tim lifts her back up, she wraps her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. He carried her to the bedroom like that.

Tamara was lying in the middle of Tim and Lucy, she cuddled up to Tim for a bit before turning to cuddle up to Lucy. Tim rolled over and hugged Tamara keeping her close.

Sunday

They woke up and Tamara didn't want to leave their side. She was attached to Lucy at the apartments then when they went to the station, she was attached to Tim. Walking super close to him and just behind him, she was holding onto his arm. Tim told her that they could stay in his office for the day. Tim and Tamara were in Tim's office, Lucy was walking around the bullpen.

Angela: "Hey Lucy, what's up with Tamara?"

Lucy: "She had a rough night, she opened up about her past a bit. She was terrified and hasn't left Tim's side at all. She literally clinging to him."

Nyla: "What about your relationship?"

Lucy: "I'm not taking it to heart, I understand that she needs comfort."

Angela: "Okay, as long as you're okay." She nods, they continue working.

Later in the day, Smitty dropped something which made a loud bang. Tamara jumped and started panicking, Tim went over to her to calm her. She wouldn't calm down, Tim picked her up placing her on his lap. He brought her head to his chest to listen to his heart beat, he exaggerated his breaths to help her calm down.

15 minutes later, she calmed down again. She's snuggled into Tim's chest.

Tamara: "Thanks, but how did you know?"

Tim: "Lucy suffered from them after she was abducted, this was the only way she would calm down."

Monday

Tim and Lucy organised a therapist for Tamara to talk to, they used the department's therapist which they trusted. Tamara and the therapist sat down in the office, while Tim and Lucy were outside waiting.

Tamara told the therapist everything.

Therapist: "Why did you go to Tim? If he hated you, why him?"

Tamara: "I'm not sure. I know it wasn't because he was the only one alone. I saw how he treated Lucy one day, I knew that I could trust him."

Therapist: "So, we need to do a test. I'm going to ask them to leave, then we will see how you go without them here." The therapist walked out and asked them to leave, but sit in the car pack.

At first, Tamara was okay but after 10 minutes ... She felt like the walls were caving in on her and started to panic. The therapist told Tim and Lucy to come to the room. They arrived, Tamara looked up and saw them in the room. She ran over to them and hugged them both tightly.

Lucy: "Your okay, we're here."

Tim: "Your not alone." They sat down with Tamara between them.

After a few weeks, the therapist has been studying the interactions between the trio. She collected her finds and asked them to come for an appointment.

Wednesday

Lucy: "Everyone ready?" They nodded. Making their way to the therapist office. They sat in the room.

Therapist: "As you know, I have been studying you guys and have my findings. Tamara, I have a very deep question to ask you." She nods.

Therapist: "Do you believe the reason that you are clingy to these two is because you think of them as parent figures?" She took a second to think about it. Tamara just nods her head. Tim and Lucy were stunned.

Lucy: "You think of us as parent figures?"

Tamara: "Yeah I do, I hope that's okay."

Tim: "It's fine, whatever makes you feeling better." She hugs them both. They leave the office and heads home.
