Helping Her - The Rookie

Chapter Four

Thursday

They sent the day together. They planned on a shopping trip, then the movies and after that going to the beach. Lucy and Tim wanted to show Tamara how much they care about her.

Their day went well, they were having fun as a little family. Tamara was enjoying the company of Tim and Lucy, feeling is grateful to have them in her life.

Before heading home they made a quick stop. Tamara was confused and didn't know where they were heading, she grabbed Lucy's hand and held in tight.

They walked through the building and got to a waiting room. After 15 minutes.

Receptionist: "Mr Bradford and Ms Chen." They all got up and walked into the office.

Judge: "Good Afternoon, please inform me why you are here today."

Tim: "We wanted to know if we were able to adopt a child?"

Judge: "Okay, can you please give me the name?"

Lucy: "It's Tamara Collins." The judge nods and walks out of the office, grabbing paperwork and other forms. Tamara was shock and turned to look at Lucy.

Tamara: "What?"

Tim: "We would like to adopt you, if that's okay we you?" Tamara pulls them both in and hugs them.

Tamara: "I love it, thanks." The judge returns. 

Lucy and Tim full out the paperwork and finalise all the other forms.

Judge: "Okay, one last thing. Tamara, would you like to change your name?"

Tamara: "Yes, could I change middle name to Collins and my last name to Bradford." The judge nods and all the paperwork is completed.

Judge: "Congratulations, Tamara you have been officially adopted by Mr Bradford and Ms Chen." They leave the building and get home.

Tamara: "Thank you for everything. I love you both mum and dad." Tim and Lucy pull her into a hug.

Tim: "Your welcome kiddo."

Lucy: "How about you come to the station tomorrow?" She nods and they all head to bed.

Friday

Tim, Lucy and Tamara all got up and got ready for the day. They went to the station early and walked into Grey's office.

Grey: "Morning, how can I help you?"

Tim: "We just want to introduce you to our daughter."

Grey: "Okay, where is she?"

Lucy: "Right here." And points at Tamara. Grey apologised for being stupid and walked over to them.

Grey: "You have got the best people in your corner, plus I'm always here if you need anything." Tamara hugged Grey and acknowledged his helping hand. They pull away and Tamara holds Lucy's hand. 

They walk around and were ready for roll call. Lucy and Tamara were standing at the back of the room. 

Once roll call finished, Tamara and Lucy walked around. People noticed and then started getting curious. A guy was walking in the room and went to Tamara

Guy: "Well aren't you beautiful." He places his hands on her, making her extremely comfortable. Lucy saw everything and didn't care that everyone would hear.

Lucy: "Get your handsy hands off of my daughter, or do you want to get arrested." The man quickly removes his hands and leaves, everyone in the station stop and thought about what they just witnessed. Lucy quickly took Tamara to Tim's office. 

Tamara was panicking, Lucy sat her down and then sat herself down. She pulled Tamara's head to her chest, Tamara calm down a bit. Tim rushed to his office and saw his girls, he moves over to them, Tamara moved herself onto Tim and Lucy moved closer to him.

Lucy explained everything to Tim. Tamara snuggled into Tim and laid there.

After some time, they walked out of the station going for lunch. When they got to their usual spot, got food and sat down with the others.

John: "Ok, what was that in the station?" Tim sighs.

Tim: "If you must know, we adopted Tamara yesterday." Everyone congratulated them and they talked.

Tamara is in the happiness moment of her life, she found herself with parents again that care deeply about her.
