Everyday it's getting colder

Gracie

I finish my school work and head back upstairs to fall asleep. Who knew someone could be so tired?

I wake up to the familiar Milton Keynes accent. "Don't worry Gracie" I hear the captain of England say.
"Yeah, trust me Madison is nice. She just is a bit complicated" I hear my sister say
I quickly jump up from the bed and step outside. "Seriously you were asleep again?" Alessia asks and fixes my hair. "Sorry I'm so tired, not my fault" I say moodily and head downstairs.
I see Katie.
"Are you and my sister?" I ask
"We aren't official" Katie says
"Let me fix your hair" she says and pulls out my messy bun and puts it in a high ponytail. The trio walk downstairs during the wholesome moment. "Thanks McCabe" I say

"At least someone's helpful round here" I say to alessia
"Hey! I am helpful" she says
"Madi, this is Gracie. Gracie, this is madi" alessia says
"Nice to meet you" I say and do a step towards her.
"Hey" she says shyly
"Hey no need to be shy. I don't judge" I say with a slight chuckle.

Her eyes were blue, they sparkled like the ocean. They were so perfect, her pupils were wide and jet black and were embraced in a warm and gentle breezy blue, her whiteness were like clouds floating around. It was the definition of heaven.

I cleared my throat, "let's go to my room" I say to her. She smiles and we head upstairs. "We can ignore the mess but yeah" I say as we walk in.

" if Leah let me have my room like this I'd be killed" she says and I laugh.
"Alessia doesn't know" I say with a slight laugh

We lie on my bed and watch Netflix whilst talking. "Less told me you are in the academy" I say
"Yeah it's fun, but hard work" she says
"Heard you wanted to join" she says
"Yeah. I do" I say
"You'll get in, alessia always shows Leah your football videos from your last team. We could really use you" she says
"Well it wasn't much of a choice leaving them" I say

I hear a knock. "Come in" I say
"You girls-" alessia says
"Madison!" She says in shock
"Yeah" I say
"Why does your room look like this!" She says
"Haven't tidied it, I've been really tired and not motivated sorry less" I say
"It's okay, just please do it soon. Anyway, how you girls doing?" She asks
"Good" I say and look at Gracie.
"Yeah, it's going well" she says

"You girls okay with pizza?" Alessia asks
"We know I can't have pizza less" I say
"How come?" Gracie asks
"Don't like tomatoes" I say
"Erm missing something there" alessia says
"And I hate the dough" I say
"She's incredibly fussy you'll soon know" alessia says

Gracie laughs and Alessia leaves. "Seriously you don't like pizza?" She asks
"No" I say
"I live off pasta" I say and laugh
"What sauce though?" She asks
"Well I hate tomatoes so pesto or cheese" I say

After a while we get called down.

"Where's the water?" I ask alessia
"Well I hope it's in the tap" alessia says making everyone laugh. "What you don't like juice?" Katie asks
"No" I say
I go over and fill my cup with water. I sit back down. "So how's life?" Katie asks me, and I nearly choke. "What question is that?" I ask
"A general one" she says.
"Right this is getting embarrassing" as everyone was laughing.
"Well apart from me getting into a fight, getting kicked out of school, getting kicked out of my parents and then being forced to come here. Everything's good" I say
"It's not that bad here. Really" Leah says
"Sure" I say
"I mean when Gracie came she didn't like it either" Leah says
"Yeah trust me I hated it" she says

After a while Leah and Gracie leave. "Lessi?" I say
"Yeah" she says as she loads the dishwasher.
"Can't I be homeschooled?" I ask
"No, we've got you a place in Gracie's school" she says
"You start Tuesday and your uniform is in your wardrobe" alessia then says
"And for football?" I ask
"Gracie doesn't go to school on Fridays but has to catch up with the work over the weekend. And that's because she's committed" alessia says
"Okay" I say
