Plus, this was supposed to be Renesmee's chapter, but naturally, it became Sardina's.

Renesmee ran like a wolf.
Like it was nothing but her second nature. While I stumbled on my bare feet, feeling nothing but paralyzed, she seemed barely out of breath. Whatever shit that Jasper guy put in my drink had successfully worked its wonders inside me.

I caught sight of the thing around Renesmee's neck as we ran, the guys in suits chasing after us.

A twin of my pendant.

Holy Yemaya. It was really her.

It was Renesmee. My Renesmee. My world. Right here next to me.

"I – I can't." I panted as Renesmee increased her speed, hand tight around mine, sending a weird feeling running all over my body. "My legs hurt . . ."

And my body is electrified by your touch.

Renesmee ignored me, glancing back at the guys that were still after us. She cursed under her breath, dragging me with her into a corner in an alleyway.

"Hold on a little bit more, princess. We're almost there."

Where? I needed to breathe or else I was sure I was going to pass out. But the way she called me 'princess' felt like a small restoration of strength, despite the potent smell of smoke and something I couldn't name coming from her. Was she a smoker? And I accidentally used that last drip of strength to wonder if she had always been this attractive or was it just my head messing with me. Puberty had done her really good, unlike me. It made me feel like a cow standing next to a handsome Egyptian goddess from perfection knew where.

"I parked my bike somewhere around these corners. C'mon!" She added, feet not halting.

But no, I couldn't.

I had never run this fast my entire life. Or on my case, swim this long and fast.

I tripped, Renesmee catching me before my face could not the ground.
She pulled on my hand, but I couldn't do it.

"I can't, Rene. My feet are dead." I whimpered. "Oh how I wish I had my tail right now."

Renesmee chuckled a little at my last statement, and the sound felt like making contact with an electric eel. A burning sizzle all over my veins. But I had no time to ponder it because she quickly ushered me onto her back.

"Climb on, princess."

And I obliged. Again, ignoring the effect the nickname had on me.

Renesmee carried me on her back, the strength in her arms taking me off guard. Turns out I was lighter than I thought I was.
