Renesmee

I hadn't slept a wink, unable to stop thinking about the girl on the other side of the wall and whatever the hell I was supposed to do with her now that she was here.

The sound of footsteps echoed in the corridor and stopped in front of my door. Then I heard the door being slowly pushed open.

I didn't lock it for this damned reason. If it were anyone else, I would be pissed that they didn’t knock, but with Sardina, I preferred her not to knock.

I watched the girl as she strode in lazily, sleepy eyes and messy hair. Her alien beauty still captured me in a chokehold. Wasn't she a goddess of perfection? Yes, she was. Any woman should be ashamed to compare themselves to her. Sardina was a walking Aphrodite, looking too good in nothing but my t-shirt. Fish out of water. Hot fish out of water. The closer she got, the harder it was for me to breathe.

"Renesmee."

That's all she whispered before climbing into the covers with me as I made space for her.

"Can I hug you?"

I looked at her, questioning what good deed I had done to make me lucky enough for her to ask that question.

'You can do anything to me,' I almost uttered, but quickly swallowed the words back hard and simply nodded, opening my arms for her.

The corners of her lips twitched a bit, forming a sleepy smile before diving into my embrace. She took advantage of the opportunity, clasping our bodies tightly together until I almost couldn't breathe. I was grateful for the thin layer of my pajamas protecting me, or else I didn't know what I'd do if she ever came skin to skin.

Mind in disarray, I felt her delicate bare legs wrap around mine. As if the way she already had an arm around my waist wasn't enough. I couldn't breathe.

I looked down at the girl, and she had her eyes closed. Sound asleep.

"Dina?" I called in a murmur, ogling down her seraphic facial features and abusing the fact that she couldn't see me watching.

"Mh?"

Her response was both sleepy and unexpected. I wondered if she was in her right mind or had she sleep walked into my room? I hoped she knew what she was doing. She had latched onto my body like a starfish and I hoped she had decided it with a sane mind, not accidentally.

I wanted it to be real.

"I can't sleep." I murmured, sensing the heat of her body harmonizing with mine.

She looked so peaceful with her eyelids down, I almost didn't want to wake her. Her nose, thin and upright. Her lips . . .

Sardina's eyes flicked open, and I hastily darted mine away. Why the fuck did I look at her like that?
