She missed me more than I missed her.

Renesmee's sudden confession ceased all my tears and sadness away.

Was it so hard for her to admit that earlier?

"Eat up." Renesmee pushed the plate of fries towards me.

I didn't need to be told twice. I had never been so hungry my entire life. I was as famished as a starved whale. But there was only one problem . . .

The food.

I scrutinized whatever things served before me, examining its edibleness and taste with curious eyes.

Renesmee watched me, an amused expression on her face.

"Don't worry, it tastes great." She assured me.

I had seriously never eaten anything other than ocean food, so I was really nervous about this. But I trusted the words that came out of the mouth of the girl who sat across from me.

So I digged in.

I attacked the food like a freaking shark. Not sparing a crumb. Renesmee held her cellphone out like she had something important to do with it, but she was too stuck watching me.

I was a messy eater, born not bred, and I had never been ashamed about it. So I casually shoved mounds of potato fries and chicken nuggets into my mouth. My stomach had been waiting too long to be fed like this.

It tasted weirdly good and I ate both mine and Renesmee's order. She even pushed the two bottles of sprite she ordered towards me. I gulped both of them down like it's my last day being alive.

Stuffed and done, I looked up, my eyes met hers and I noticed the quick change in her expression. From fighting the urge to smile in amusement to her stoic demeanor.

Why is she being so mean to me? Would it hurt to give me even half a smile?

"You really were starved, weren't you?" Renesmee finally let out the littlest of a chuckle, a faint sound that sent my lower stomach into an overdrive.

The urge to climb over the table and eat her too overwhelmed me in the best way possible.

I couldn't name the way she was looking at me right now, but I wished to get stuck in the moment because, finally, I was the center of her attention. I realized it's all I had been craving all these years. Even though it happened in the span of half a minute, I savored it.

"Sardina, you -" Renesmee moved forward and reached her hand over to my face. "You have something on your lips. Just a little stain, let me."

Renesmee's thumb swiped across the side of my lips, wiping off some tomato sauce I obviously smudged myself with before pulling back and sitting straight back in her seat.
