Chapter 8: Priority
-----☆-----
Kylie's POV
"About that," I hesitated, "I'm not sure if I can watch your game this Friday."
Napataas siya ng kilay, "Why? I need you, Kylie...Babe."
"I---" I took a deep breath, "hindi kasi ako pinayagan ni coach mag-absent because you know, next month will also be the start of our league."
"I'm still hoping you'll watch." He sighed, "You know I badly need you now, Kylie."
Kahit gustuhin ko, my team needs me too. I am the captain just like him. I need to show my team that somehow, they are my priority.
And I can't even do anything about it. I just hope he really understands.
"I'll try..." I said to break the silence. "I will really try, Josh."
"It's okay," he said without looking at me, "I understand."
That's what he said before I kissed his cheek and went out of his car. I know, he's somehow upset.

I can still imagine his disappointed face. Hay...
"How's school, Achi Kylie? I missed our chikkahan!"
"Kyls, Kyra's asking you."
It's mom. There, I realized I was spacing out.
"Ahh.. Uhm," I shook my head. "Sorry, sorry. What was it again?"
They just smiled at me.
"Kyra!"
It's Kyser. He's there at the staircase waving at Kyra to come with him.
"Excuse me mom, auntie." and she immediately went to my brother.
"By the way, Kylie, it's been only a year but,---" Aunt Liz stopped because of, I don't know, amazement? "---you look tougher."
I don't really know if it's a compliment for me but I still smiled, "Thank you, auntie Liz. You also didn't change. Still beautiful and looking young, like always."
"I agree with Kylie," mom said. "So, kamusta naman pala kayo sa States? Is everything going well? Bakit hindi nakasama ang bunso mo?"
And they continued their chitchat. I didn't bother to listen because my mind was so busy thinking of what I should do tomorrow.
Sandali pa, bumalik na din sila dad at Uncle Dustin from somewhere. Unclue Dustin didn't change too. He's still well-built and handsome as ever. I wouldn't blame Aunt Zyra if she still has a crush on him.
Uncle Dustin asked me some questions and complimented me. Pero kahit na gaano pa kapogi si uncle, I still can't answer well because I'm too occupied.
