Chapter 6: Finding leads

Previously in Prejudice in a human world:

[Asuka had escaped from the beast hunters and found himself on the trail of a missing beastman. He met a girl named Michiru Kagemori, who aided with his investigation and she, along with Asuka and his friends, got along well. The investigation comes up short, with Asuka not being able to find any viable leads to the missing beastman, all except for a company name called Sylvasta. Asuka has no idea what this company is, but isn't against finding out more about it either. Asuka has his sights set on Anima city and now he only has to find a way there, and so starts another investigation, but this time, for freedom...]

Asuka is on the roof of Haruto's house, gazing up at the stars. He pictures himself in an environment where no beastman is judged or discriminated, and his eyes form a picture in the stars.

Asuka: "Maybe once I get to Anima city, things will be different...but how do I get there...it's closed off after all..."

Haruto: "I dunno but there's no harm in getting to work on that!"

Asuka: "GYA! When did you get here?!"

Haruto: "Just got up here and heard you talking to yourself about Anima city. Anyway, we can start investigating how to get you there tomorrow."

Asuka: "But...if I do get to go there...what will happen to you and everyone else?"

Haruto: "Don't sweat it. We'll just be doing what we always do, living our lives. It's been quite the adventure though hahaha"

Asuka: "Yeah, but I can sense it's coming to an end...I'll miss you..."

Haruto: "Come on, that's not the Asuka I know. The Asuka I know would be all optimistic and confident."

Asuka: "Well, even people like me have their weaknesses."

Haruto: "Yeah that's true...who knows though, maybe if this beastman discrimination will ever disappear, we can meet again and hang out like old times."

Asuka: "I look forward to that. I also plan to take Mio with me to Anima city. I don't want to leave her here since she's a beastman like me."

Haruto: "I think it's pretty nice of you to think of her too. To be honest, you make me think you're one of those people who wanted to be a hero when they were a kid."

Asuka: "Welllll...I actually was..."

Haruto: "Ha! called it!"

Asuka: "I still like to help people though."

Asuka and Haruto stand up.

Haruto: "Well, I'm going inside. You coming?"

Asuka: "Yeah, let's go."

Asuka and Haruto go inside. Asuka is greeted by the sight of Mio fast asleep on the couch.

Haruto: "Looks like you're the one who's sleeping on the futon this time."

Asuka: "Yep, looks like it."

Asuka lays down on the futon and Haruto goes to his bed. Asuka then closes his eyes and falls asleep.

[The next day]

Mio: "Asuka wake up."

Asuka: "Huh? Mio?"

Mio: "Yeah, Haruto told me you were gonna start looking for a way to Anima city, so I wanna help!"

Asuka: "Alright, you can tag along."
