Emily getting stuff from fans isn't unheard of since she's posted her Amazon wish list in her link tree on Twitter. One person gave her a copy of a Pokémon game a short time after she posted about the hospital trip ( if I remember correctly since it's been a while since I've updated this book some of the screenshots are out of date but i'll do my best with what my memory allows.) I don't know for sure if she is actually faking her illnesses but if she were I think it's for guilt trip so others take pity on her and purchase things for her. I looked at the wishlist before and a lot of it wasn't for wellness ok there were items that did seem accurate to illness but a lot of items weren't.
But back to the mental illness I did some research on the POTS symptoms so here is what I found.
My own Research:
While some of the physical symptoms of POTS overlap with the symptoms of anxiety, such as tachycardia and palpitations, POTS is not caused by anxiety. POTS patients are often misdiagnosed as having anxiety or panic disorder, but their symptoms are real and can severely limit a person's ability to function.
Certain symptoms of postural tachycardia syndrome (PoTS) happen when you stand up and get better when you lie down, such as:
dizziness or light-headedness.
fainting or almost fainting.
noticeable heartbeats (heart palpitations)
chest pain.
shortness of breath.
shaking and sweating.Symptoms include lightheadedness, fainting, and rapid heartbeat, which are relieved by lying down again.
What are the symptoms of an overactive vagus nerve?
You may experience:
Abdominal pain and bloating.
Acid reflux (gastroesophageal reflux disease, GERD).
Changes to heart rate, blood pressure or blood sugar.
Difficulty swallowing or loss of gag reflex.
Dizziness or fainting.
Hoarseness, wheezing or loss of voice. What is the function of the vagus nerve?
The vagus nerve is responsible for the regulation of internal organ functions, such as digestion, heart rate, and respiratory rate, as well as vasomotor activity, and certain reflex actions, such as coughing, sneezing, swallowing, and vomitingLooking at Tik Tok there's a lot of people on there who claim to have POTS Disease currently apparently Covid is due to this but Emily doesn't exactly seem like someone who has it for the times she's been to arcades, Roller skating, and Disneyland, one thing that stands out is she doesn't complain about passing out for no reason POTS makes you light headed and often calls for fainting but she says differently. Tik tok is pretty much the #1 place where people are self diagnosing themselves right now on whatever from Autism, to Tourette's syndrome I don't fully trust those on there since the fakers have made it difficult to tell if someone who really has it I know one person faked having cancer and their community caught her in the act one person drove them to the doctor for an appointment ( a Cancer hospital) and their name wasn't on the list nor has she ever been there she is currently in jail but I'm not putting their name here for privacy reasons but you can find the information online a long with the full story on YouTube.
