Rise and Shine!

In which Catnap watches over Sun diligently, and then he's pressed to spin a lie and spin it quick to ease Moon's suspicions. (Continuation of the Catnap AU.)

So serene and peaceful. Wrapped up in his blankies, soothed by friendly company and lulled to sleep by a comfortable dose of poppy gas. And oh, his little snores and mumbles are so cute! I pause and prick my ears up as Sunshine begins to mumble again, his words hard to discern due to his sleepy tongue but... It sounds something like he's threatening to stab someone? I should probably be concerned by how violent his subconscious thoughts are, but I just think it's adorable.

"Hehe, you stab those mean folks, Sunshine, aim for the throat," I whisper, reaching out and stroking his cheek. He mumbles something more before he quiets again, settling into his soft snores once more.

But then I hear something odd- a soft, bell-like ding that I swear came from under the blankets. I don't know much about these fancy robots like Sunshine, so I assume that it was something to do with him. I'm not very keen to go snooping around until I hear another ding, and then another. They start getting annoying in their frequency, and I honestly worry they may disturb Sunshine, so I pull the blankets back a bit and try to find the source of the sound. It turns out to be his forearm, where there's a panel with a little button lit up. I gingerly press it and the panel flips back to reveal a screen, and it's still lit up with a little bubble with text in it.

"ANSWER ME NOW!" is what the text says, and there's a name attached to it. Moon. Then I see what must be the time, reading at 1:43pm, and it all falls into place. Moon is looking for Sunshine, and he's probably getting very unhappy.

I grimace at the thought of getting caught by that brute again, then I tap to bubble, relieved when it responds to my touch and opens up to the other messages Sunshine has gotten from Moon.

Moon: Sun, where are you? I looked in your room
and you weren't there. Are you okay?

Moon: Sun, now isn't the time to go running off
and disappear without saying anything! Please
tell me you're okay!

Moon: This isn't funny, where are you?!

Moon: SUN!

Moon: ANSWER ME NOW!

Jeeze, he is not a nice fellow even when he's worried. I wonder what exactly Sunshine- er, Sun, likes about this jerk. After studying the screen for moment, I press the spot that says "write" and a little keyboard appears on the screen. It's a slow process- I am not familiar with this technology at all- and my paws are a bit too big to the tiny button keys, so I have to delete and rewrite a lot to get it to sound coherent. I have no idea how to capitalize the letters where needed, though...

You: hello, moon. im so sorry for scaring you, that
was not my intention. i just needed to take some
time to myself and relax to clear my head. i didnt
hear the dings when you messaged me, im sorry.
but im okay, i promise.

Moon: Where in the Pizzaplex are you? Are
you sure you're okay?

I hesitate to tell him where we are, because what if he comes looking? But if I lie and he goes to look there, then I might land Sun in hotter water than he already is in.

You: im in fazerblast. and yes, im sure. just
tired. i was up late last night with a lot on my
mind.

Moon: As in you couldn't sleep, or you were
forcing yourself to stay awake while you
cleaned the ENTIRE DAYCARE instead of
getting some sleep?
