They were sitting at their usual spot when she told him about her tattoos.

Jinhwan didn't expect her to really tell him, and he frowned when she did.

"I get a new one every time I hurt someone I care about," she said in a voice so soft that he could barely hear.

He remembered the girl at the restaurant, Eun Mi's sister. The last time he had seen her, there was a scar that ran down her face. It was around the same time when Eun Mi had been avoiding him.

Did Eun Mi do that to her sister?

"They felt pain," Eun Mi continued, "So I need to feel it, too. And I can't ever forget it. I hurt the people who care about me. I need to remember how much of a monster I actually am."

"You're not a monster," Jinhwan whispered. "You never meant to hurt them."

Eun Mi gave no reply.

The two were quiet as they leaned on the tree's trunk. His shoulder bumped into hers and she flinched a little but didn't outright move away

Their silence was broken a moment later when she spoke.

"I keep sounding crazier and crazier, don't I?"

Jinhwan shook his head and faced her. He looked her straight in the eyes when he said, "I don't think you're crazy."

Eun Mi looked away. "Just different, I know," she replied, "You already told me that."

He thought she wouldn't say anything else, but he caught her lips moving and heard her soft voice. Jinhwan was sure that she hadn't even meant for him to hear her next words.

"But I hear you're voice telling me I'm crazy," she whispered, "And I believe it. Because you're the only one I can actually call a friend."
