She chuckled lightly at something he said. Their relationship had improved greatly, and they were joking around like old friends.
Jinhwan was telling her about something that happened at their house. His friends were really good with pranks, and she always seemed interested in listening to the stories he told her about them. In the middle of his story-telling, Eun Mi froze.
"What was that?"
Jinhwan looked at her, confused. "What was what?"
The girl sat up, ignoring the boy's question, and looked around. She leaned back on the tree trunk when she apparently found nothing. "I swear I'll kill you if your fans followed you here," she muttered. "I can't have people coming into my space."
Jinhwan pouted. "But if you kill me then you'll miss having me around."
Eun Mi rolled her eyes. "How are you so sure about that?"
The annoyed look on her face might have unsettled him had he not known her as well as he did now. Jinhwan knew she never really meant any of her threats. They were still hanging out so that must have meant that she genuinely likes his company rather than just tolerates it like she says.
"I just know," he replied, flashing her a smile.
Eun Mi sighed but Jinhwan saw it — her lips subtly curving upward.
