"Contact lens or glasses?" I asked Thea over the phone as I am getting dressed for our double date.

"Glasses. Who knows, maybe your date is into the nerdy type." Dahil sa sagot ni Thea, tinanggal ko ang mga salamin ko at isinuot ang clear contacts sa aking mga mata.

"Should I wear makeup?"

"Bare face lang, Is. Simplicity is beauty." Hindi ko siya ulit sinunod at naglagay ako ng kaunting makeup sa mukha. This is my first date after a long-term relationship, so I want to make an effort for myself. Sabi ni Thea, it's just going to be a coffee date, so I decided to wear a skirt dahil hindi naman din ako masyado gagalaw. Alam kong it's not really my usual style, but I can't show up in jeans.

I'm dressed in my checkered Betty Boop sweater, neatly tucked into a black fitted skirt featuring a small slit, showing a glimpse of my thigh. I've matched it with my Betty Boop socks that came along with the sweater and my white shoes.

Once ready, I picked up my bag and left the house. Thea advised me not to bring my car for some unknown reason, so I asked my driver to take me to the cafe.

"Thanks, Kuya. Ingat po kayo," sabi ko sa driver nang makalabas ako ng kotse. Our meet up place is no other than the Coffee corner dahil schoolmates lang naman daw yung kikitain namin. I feel nervous about meeting here dahil baka makita kami ng iba namin kakilala lalo na at walang alam si Hailee tungkol sa double date na 'to.

I quickly spotted Thea sitting, and across from her were a guy and a girl with their backs facing me. Bakit isa lang ang lalaki? Ano 'to? Foursome? Three girls and one guy? Thea noticed me, so I gestured for her to come over. I saw her say something to the two before making her way towards me.

"Wala ka naman sinunod sa advice ko, but you look great," she said, eyeing my entire look. Thea also looks great in her black spaghetti-strapped mini dress and denim jacket. She always loves wearing dresses that showcase her long legs. I remember her once saying she was blessed with those, so it's a waste not to show them off.

"Althea, why is there only one guy?" I asked.

"Ilan ba dapat kailangan? That's my date, Jackson," Sagot niya at tinuro ang nag-iisang lalaki sa table namin.

"And where's mine?" Thea looked at me to see if I was serious with my question. She then pointed to the girl beside the guy.

"Babae ang date ko?" Hindi makapaniwalang tanong ko. I expected that Thea would set me up with a guy.

"Aren't you into girls now?" Hmm, am I? I don't think so. Maybe just into one girl.

"Pero wala akong experience with a girl." Maybe in bed, I may have experience, but not on an actual date.

"That's why we're here." I sighed. This might not be the best idea, but before I could voice my thoughts, Thea pulled me to the table and introduced me to them.

Jackson, her date, looks good. He perfectly fits the description of tall, dark, and handsome. He gives off a nice guy vibe. I checked his ID lace, and it's from the School of Engineering and Architecture. Wow, umaabot ang ganda ni Thea doon.

"Jackson, this is Isla, my best friend. Isla, this is Jackson, my date." I shook his hand, and he gave me a friendly smile, which I returned. Then, I shifted my gaze to the girl beside him.

This girl, on the other hand, gives off a badass vibe. She wears a poker face as if she doesn't want to be here. I don't know if it's the eyeliner, but she's quite intimidating. I already want to back out. I'm even more nervous because I'm afraid she won't handle my awkwardness well and might just leave me hanging.
