Hello, readers. I decided upon how i shall end the series, and it won't disappoint. Not going to say how as it'll be a surprise. As for the Arsenal ships mentioned, these are 5,000 ton ships i have planned.
but here's the actual cost of these ships in this series. The going rate is about $200,000 per ton for a modern surface combatant.
so here we are:
Narkis class Corvette: $150,000,000.00
Horizon class Corvette: $400,000,000.00
Anthony Class Arsenal ship: $1,000,000,000.00
Ponzi class SSGN: $200,000,000.00
so far. the Mercenary warfare corporation has a 60 ship fleet with a fleet battle tonnage of 180,000 tons with a combined VLS cell capacity of 2,644 cells. In addition to this, they have a dozen auxiliary vessels, bringing their total fleet tonnage 1,020,000 tons, giving them a 72 ship navy.
by comparison, the USN today has a fleet tonnage of 3,509,640 tons, Russian Navy: 1,033,480, PLAN: 1,032,225, JMSDF: 470,900, Royal Navy 353,020, Indian Navy: 295,734.
While this list is not exhaustive it's to give you an idea how powerful our man's company is.
Their battle fleet's combined displacement is comparable to the Marina Militare today.
As for combined missile capacity, the MWC has just over a quarter of the capacity of the USN, and 80% the Missile capacity of the PLAN
as for the cost our man pays a year, it's 1.8 billion USD in today's money a year in operating costs for his 72 ships.
but if you are looking to get your very own warship, it's again $200,000.00 per ton, and then $14,000.00 per ton in annual upkeep. A Narkis is the cheapest of my designs, but the 700 ton ship is going to suck $9,800,000.00 out of your pocket a year in keeping her afloat in a state of operational readiness.
You can see why it's legal to own a warship. Yes, if you had the money, you can have an aircraft carrier or a battleship. Just be ready for a mountain of paperwork.
