Chapter Eleven : A Warning From Gabe Asher

HARPER HOME

The next day, in Jonny's sunny bedroom, Jonny's and Mine's clothes lays gently on the ottoman. He and I are asleep, shirtless wearing his boxer briefs with his tattoos and Me, half naked, with the fluffy plaid bedcover covering the lower half of his body and my torso and lower half of my body.

With his eyes closed, Jonny stirs in bed and gently soothes his nose with mine.

"Hi." Jonny greeted me.

"Hi, J." I greeted him back with my eyes closed.

Jonny and I opens our eyes and exchange soft looks at each other.

"I have to go." I said.

"Right now?" Jonny said, sitting up sideways. "Can you stay, for like, a few minutes?"

"Jonny?" I said to him.

"Pretty please?" Jonny asked, as he pecks small kisses on the side of my neck.

And I gently runs my hand in his shaggy brown hair. "Jonny?"

Jonny stops pecking kisses on my neck and looks at me. "Okay."

Jonny and I exchange small smiles at each other and I sits on the side of the bed, putting on Jonny's long sleeve shirt, baring my thighs and legs and I gets up with my clothes and walks away.

JEN'S DINER

Later that day, I walks out of the diner with my takeout bag of pancakes and french vanilla milkshake. My usual.

I slowly walks up to my teal Honda Civic hatchback car. Gabe Asher is sitting in a booth table with his mug of coffee and a slice of pie.

Gabe and I exchange looks at each other. He sly grins and winks at me. And I gets inside my car and drives away.

HEDRICK HOME

Sonya and I are sitting at the kitchen countertop, sharing my takeout pancakes.

"Gabe is starting to creep me out a little." I said to Sonya.

"Does he know about your weak spot? The tuning fork?" Sonya asked.

"Not really no." I told her. "I made myself immune to the ringing of the tuning fork because I asked Christine Avery. The ringing itself gave me slight headaches."

"Something doesn't quite add up." Sonya said. "Gabe is a warlock, so, why hasn't he done his warlock magical powers?"

"I don't know, Sonny. Maybe, he's waiting for an opportunity to do so." I said to her.

Sonya and I exchange worried looks at each other.

- Third POV -

Jonny is in town, driving in his pickup truck. He then, sees Gabe Asher standing in the middle of the road.

Jonny stops his pickup truck and looks at Gabe.

"Hello, Jonny Harper. Out and about, are you?" Gabe Asher spoke in his British accent.

Jonny tries to start his pickup truck again, but Gabe uses his warlock magical powers to flip over Jonny's pickup truck upside down on the road.

Gabe's eyes are demonic black eyes as he saunters up to Jonny.

With a few bruises on his face, Jonny slowly crawls out of his driver's car door window.

Jonny looks up at Gabe. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

"Oh, nothing." Gabe told Jonny. "Your girlfriend, Violet Benton, is getting too close to me, so, hurting you is a way to deter her away from me."

"If you come after Violet or any of my best friends, I will hurt you." Jonny threatened Gabe.

But Gabe just smirks, unfazed. "You can try to hurt me if you want, but you'll just make me even more."

Jonny slowly gets up to his feet. He and Gabe exchange tense looks at each other.

EL SANGUINE GYM CLUB LOUNGE CENTER

That afternoon, I slowly walks inside the office and looks at Jonny, who's sitting on the sofa.

"Jonny? What the hell happened?" I asked, referring to his bruises on his face.

"Gabe Asher." Jonny told me. "I was driving around in town and there he was in the middle of the road. He used his magical powers to flip my truck over and upside-down. And by the way, he knows that you're getting too close to him."

"So, that's why he hurt you to turn my attention away from him to you." I said to Jonny.

Jonny and I exchange looks at each other as I sit next to him on the sofa.

"He already got you, who else is he gonna go after next?" I asked.

"It could be anyone, Vinny." Jonny said to me.

The telephone rings on the table. I get up and slowly walks up to the telephone and answers it.

"Hello?" I asked.

"This is your warning, Violet. Back off from me or Jonny won't be the only person that I go after." Gabe Asher told me on the telephone.

"I've faced Bad Seed villains such as yourself, Gabe. And my best friends and I have defeated them. You don't know what I'm capable of. But you will." I told him.

Gabe chuckled on the telephone. "I look forward to seeing how capable you are."

And Gabe hangs up the telephone. Jonny and I exchange worried looks at each other.

JEN'S DINER

That evening, Christine Avery and I are sitting at the diner counter with our milkshakes.

"So, I've been specializing in my magical abilities and your ability to sense uneasy vibes, but also, you can do mental shields." Christine Avery said to me, taking sips of her strawberry milkshake.

"A mental shield?" I said, a bit confused.

"You can project a shield from your mind onto yourself and others to protect from Gabe Asher's warlock magical powers." Christine said.

"So, all I have to do is focus on my shield on anyone?" I asked, taking sips of my French vanilla milkshake.

"Yeah." Christine Avery replied. "So, not only you can sense uneasy vibes, you can also have a mental shield."

Christine Avery and I exchange looks at each other and we continue sipping on our milkshakes.

BENTON HOME

That night, I'm standing in the middle of the living room. I close my eyes and focus. I slowly opens my eyes as I create a mental shield around Me.

My mental shield disappears and I small smile to myself.
