Two souls sat at a table comfortably far from the rest, sounds of pages being flipped, the clatter of quilts dipping into ink and scratching on parchment; only those small noises filled the room as they diligently worked through their given tasks

It had helped that the library was nearly empty, and if Y/n hadn't known better she would have thought that only she had existed in the space. But today wasn't like the others when she had come to visit, or the times she and Issac had spent hours reading the literature hidden in the magical walls

The girl with beautiful e/c eyes peeked up from her book to the chocolate-haired Slytherin, catching a glance at the way he slightly scrunched his brows as he scaned through an exceptionally thick book; trying to find any relevant information for their project. Her gaze lingered on him for a moment before his dark hues caught sight of hers; locking together

Usually, when Theo caught someone staring he would brush it off with a click of his tongue and go about his day without much thought. Although he did find it rather unpleasant, truthfully he didn't blame them for he knew that if he saw himself in the halls he would do the same thing. We love confidence in a man

But strangely enough, when Theo saw the e/c eyed girl looking at him a different feeling erupted in his chest. Not one that made him uncomfortable per say, no it was quite the opposite. It was like his mind had welcomed the act, he wanted her to look at him longer, to have her attention

He frowned at his thought, what was he thinking? He barely knew the girl, and he certainly didn't want to get to know her. No, not at all. They were just working together for some stupid project, and once it was done they would return to being strangers. So why did he feel so content in being with her? It was making no sense

As Theo continued to read through the book, he could still feel the gaze of the h/c haired girl dwell on his figure. He internally sighed, taking a glance at his watch

15 seconds..

30 seconds..

1 minute..

'Bloody hell, why is she still staring?'

Under her unwavering gaze, he could feel himself slowly grow conscious and dare he say.. shy? What was up with her? Was something on his face? Why are his palms sweaty all of the sudden?

Let's see what our little Ravenclaw friend was thinking

'I should really thank him... b-but would that be awkward? H-he helped me out earlier, a-and comforted me? But I-I don't think he considers us friends, and I already thanked him earlier.. would he think I'm some sort of weird person who apologizes a lot? He looks a little scary, b-but I'm pretty sure he's a nice guy.. would he understand? Ahh why is this so hard! That's what she said... No Y/n it's not time to be silly! We have to come in clutch here and make a decision!'

Ah yes, a mess as always

Finally having enough of this, Theo cleared his throat and looked up at the h/c haired girl, their eyes locking once more. "What?" he confronted with a slight edge to his voice, startling the poor anti-social Ravenclaw who only realized at that moment that she had been staring

"O-Oh um," Y/n stuttered, her nervous face gradually turning into a small smile as she fiddled with loose strands of her hair, "...thank you for what you did earlier. I-I know I already said that, b-but it meant a lot to me! It was really nice of you.."

God, why did she have to sound so genuine? How long had it been since someone called him nice? It was a foreign feeling, and Theo swore his eyes were drying up from how long he had been staring at the alluring smile of the e/c eyed beauty. It wasn't like a smile that lit up the room, but it felt personal, special, like a reward granted to only a few. If it had a name, it sure as hell would live up to it, and honestly that was enough of a thanks in itself. Once her words were fully registered through his mind, he leaned back in his chair and clicked his tongue. "Don't worry about it. Those losers were being too loud anyways, someone had to put them in their place," he muttered, looking off to the side
