(NOAH POV)

I don't know what about this boy interests me. He seems to like the smell of chocolate croissants, and he seems to get giddy at the thought of a free cookie.
Free cookie for "first time customers", my ass. I don't know what possessed me to feel the need to give him a free cookie. Maybe he'd stay longer to talk to me.

"Free cookies, seriously?" Trent walked over to me with a fresh batch of chocolate filled croissants, the heavenly smell of the pastry filling my nostrils.
"I know.." I gritted my teeth, sighing. "Hey, he was the new kid from our school, right?" I nodded, waving at a customer who walked into the coffee shop.

(Rude interruption, I'm watching Dhar Mann and tell me why I'm tearing up from this video?????)

Trent looked over to the customer, one of our regulars, who just so happened to be the girl Trent was totally crushing on. "The regular?" The girl nodded, smiling at Trent softly.
Trent made his way to the coffee machine, making a cup of coffee, with swirls of caramel lining the top of the cup.

"I should totally tell Oliver you gave that boy a free cookie." I scoffed, rolling my eyes. "As if you don't sneak Gwen a free muffin every time you bake them fresh."
Trent shushed me, putting the lid on the coffee cup and walking over to the table Gwen sat at with a smile.
"Here's your usual, anything else?" He smiled, she shook her head, no, smiling back at him before looking back at her phone.

Trent walked back over to me, "What was that cookie thing about, anyway? You never give out free food. Which, isn't particularly a bad thing." He chuckled.
I shrugged, fidgeting awkwardly. "I don't really know, it just... felt right."

"Uh, huh. Whatever you say, Noah."
He grinned, elbowing me. I rolled my eyes, walking to the cash register and pulling out my phone. "Kay, do your job. You're on bathroom duty." Trent groaned.
"I am?? Fuck, man..."

...

The cafeteria buzzed with noise and I played with the food on my tray, bored out of my mind. That was, until, the boy I now sit next to in science, sat down next to me. "Hey, Noah." He grinned, his teeth showing, a large, childish gap in his teeth that fit him, oh so well.

"Hey, Cody." I could feel a smile creep onto my face. "Those croissants from yesterday were delicious. Probably the best I've ever had." He smiled brightly, playing with his food. "The cookie was good too!" He chuckled. "I might come back after school today.. I have a really big sweet tooth." He said sheepishly.

I laughed, "I'll be waiting." He smiled softly, "Now I have to be there." He laughed, resting his hand on my shoulder, a weird tingle in my stomach.
"I guess you do." I grinned, he smiled back, staring at me with a stupid grin.

After a few seconds, Trent slammed his tray onto the table, the sound breaking me out of my trance as he grinned at me and Cody. "Cody! You're the new kid, right." Cody laughed awkwardly, his face turning a bit red as he looked away from me.

"Yeah, that's me." He said, relaxing with a grin on his face. "Sweet, I'm Trent. Where did you live before you moved here?" He asked, eating his lunch.
"Not that far, I lived in Ottawa." Trent nodded, a good looking boy sitting next to him with an empty tray; Justin.

"Hey Justin." He held his hand up, making Trent frown. I laughed, "You're still giving Trent the silent treatment?" Justin nodded, taking the apple off of Trent's tray and taking a bite out of it, Trent rolling his eyes.

Justin looked at Cody, raising an eyebrow and pointing at him. "Who's this?"
"Cody, he's the new guy." I said, putting my hand on Cody's shoulder. Justin nodded in understanding, waving and continuing to eat his apple.

...

I lean against the counter, staring at the door, waiting, and waiting, and waiting for Cody to walk through the door. My prayers being answered, hearing his cheeky giggle as he walks into the café. "Hey!" He smiled. I smiled back at him. "You wanna stay for a bit? I could use someone to talk to."

"You can talk to me, you just choose not to." Trent laughed, patting my back and walking over to Gwen's table and placing her usual coffee down in front of her.
"Oh hey, Trent, right?" Cody smiled, Trent nodded.
"That's me."

I rolled my eyes, looking at Cody.
"I can take your order now." Cody smiled, looking at the pastries
"Hmmmmm, ooh, can I have one of those chocolate muffins and another chocolate croissant?" I nodded, getting the tongs ready and grabbing one of the croissants, then grabbing the muffin Cody had been eyeballing.

I put the muffin and croissant into a bad and handed it to Cody. "13.29" He nodded, paying and sitting down at a table.
I smiled, watching him munch on the croissant happily.

I hope he keeps coming here.
