I have so many emotions once finishing this book. We've known Mustang longer then we knew Eo, so I want their love to grow into something. But I know Darrow will feel guilt for his dead wife. He has grouped her into a different class of Gold, but she is a gold nonetheless. He will eventually have to tell her the truth or betray her trust. And she brought her brother to him so he could win the game.
I almost wanted him to apprentice with the Rage Knight, I feel like that would have been a better match. The ArchGovernor wants to keep him close, make sure his little secret doesn't spill past the cliffs of the valley. It doesn't feel like a big secret to me, but I think it would tarnish the family name. Make the Jackel looks weak, weaker than he already looks after losing an arm and getting dragged naked to his better.
I think the next book will be less intense physically, but mentally draining. There is a lot of work to set up.
I don't think Sevro will go anywhere. He's a friend for life. Rogue is another brother made from the game. Pax's death still hurts.
