"Representing Russia, Yulia Lipnitskaya!" The announcer says as Yulia enters the ice, the Olympic ice! The crowd erupts into cheers as Yulia skates to the centre of the ice and gets into position.
"The youngest to ever win the European Championships and she did it last month, posting the highest free skate and total scores this entire season, 15 years old!" the commentator for the Olympics says.
Yulia's program music starts, she is skating to Don't walk out when in love, by Dimitri Malikov.
She begins skating, as she is skating the commentator speaks over the live stream for the people who couldn't attend the Olympics.
"Just look into her eyes and it'll tell you a lot about her, she is very focused, very intense and well beyond her years." The first commentator says.
"The steely competitor very business-like." Says the second commentator as Yulia skates her program.
Yulia sets up for her first jump of the program her lutz.
"Lutz, triple toe." Says the first commentator happily.
"Absolutely no program there, maybe a little bit of an edge problem on the first jump, but you can look at that on reply." Says the first commentator.
"Not her best jump, the double axel, but she delivers it nicely." Says the first commentator as Yulia lands her double axel.
Yulia continues to skate her program beautifully; every movement and jump is pure perfection.
"Because these programs, even the short program, takes so much strength and stamina, they give bonus points for jumps in the second, elements in the second half of the program." Says the first commentator.
"Triple flip" says the first commentator.
"Beautiful spinner." Says the second commentator.
"All the elements are given levels, level four is the highest, she attains them all" says the second commentator impressed.
"But this final spin is extremely extraordinary, watch the final position at the very end of this spin, you won't miss it!" Says the first commentator, as Yulia enters her last spin of the program.
"Depth of that knee." The first commentator comments about her broken leg spin.
"Right here!" the first commentator says as Yulia enters her beautiful Y-spin, her spins are truly gorgeous.
The crowd erupts in to cheers and applause as she exits her Y-spin, and finishes her program, her program was truly perfect, it was beyond perfect actually, its was just amazing, and Yulia was over the room at the fact she had completed her short program at the Olympics perfectly, she had don't exactly what she wanted to do, she wanted to be perfect, and she was perfect.
"Wow!" says the first commentator, as Yulia finishes her program.
"She's just a wonder!" Says the second commentator.
"She really is, and the crowd with their appreciation, pro-Russian crowd, of course but many in this crowd of the iceberg are on their feet!" the first commentator replies back to the second commentator as Yulia goes to bow to the judges.
The crowd begins to throw teddy bears and flowers onto the ice for Yulia, they are just so impressed with her performance, and so is Yulia, she is just over the moon, and this is just the short program.
She is showing the crowd how good she truly is, she is showing them that she can win, that she can do this!
"The music is called you don't give up on love, she drew the heart on the ice at the end, but she reserves her emotions, she says without elements there's- there's no point in having emotion in the performance." Says the second commentator, stuttering briefly.
"Well she's a diamond and it's how they cut this diamond, that's going to make her career truly special, and at this age she's got some things I- when I see a skater at this age I look for what they need to improve on, Lutz needs some improvement, double axel needs some improvement, but throw all of that away, but where she is right now, at this age, she is spectacular." Says the first commentator.
A third commentator begins to speak, "well someone said she doesn't have enough expression on the ice, how do you engage that?" says the third commentator.
"Well that will come with time, at her point of view, let me learn the technical aspects first, and then when I'm ready to emote I will" Says the second commentator before continuing.
"She certainly has this under control." Say the second commentator
Yulia bows to the judges and then to the crowd before leaving the ice and going over to her coach Eteri, she hugs Eteri tightly before putting her skate protectors on and her jacket.
They walk over to the scoring booth and wait for the scores, Yulia waits nervously, hoping that she truly did do enough, that she has done enough to be first after the short program.
"Opening combination, triple lutz, not right where she takes off, it could be a little edge, no I think she stayed on the outside edge and the triple toeloop looked like perfectly backwards" Says the first commentator.
"Well, they are not reviewing any of her jumps, this is her lutz." The second commentator says as they watch the replays.
"Nice and tight in the air, fully rotated." The second commentator continues,
"She has been so consistent this season." Says the second commentator.
"And the second jump was even bigger than the first one, she'll get up in the air and just start spinning right away, good tight air position, there watch her blade land perfectly backward, gorgeous!" Says the first commentator.
"And what she truly excels at is her spins!" The second commentator states.
"Oh, I get a cramp every time I see her do that." Says the first commentator with a slight giggle, "That is extraordinary!" He continues.
"That's when being fifteen comes in handy, so flexible, lovely, just lovely, beautiful." Says the second commentator.
'May I have the scores please." Speaks the scores lady,
The screen moves over to Yulia with her coach in the scores booth.
"The scores for Yulia Lipnitskaya of Russia, 72.90!" says the scores lady, "That is a personal best, putting her in first place." The crowd erupts in the cheers, and Yulia looks over her coach, her face full of happiness, for the first time Eteri looks proud of Yulia.
Just as Yulia goes to speak, a beeping sound interrupts her, it's the sound of an alarm...?
Her alarm, Yulia wakes up, she is breathing hard as it takes her a moment to adjust to her surroundings.
It was a dream, it was all a dream...
