Taehyung should probably pack his things and leave the pack for good.

Nothing could right the reason he found suitable for avoiding his omega.

It wasn't really his intention to avoid jimin like this, but he was convinced it was the only way he could tame him and his wolf for the next few days. Jimin doesn't know, but Taehyung is about to enter the most dreadful days of his life, which he has to suffer every three months.

Taehyung was never one to lie. He stuck to expressing the truth in circumstances where lying can save him from trouble. It doesn't sit well with him to deceive someone with lies when he can always tell the truth, irrespective of the consequences he might face from telling facts. He is not saying he hasn't lied a handful of times to save his ass, but it was only in those situations where he was sure no one got hurt by him spilling facts.

Yet he lied to Jimin about a lot of things. Taehyung still thinks his lies have saved the omega the burden of having to twist his ear to high heavens. No scratch that, Jimin is going to kill him if the older omega ever learns the truth behind the false statements taehyung has been feeding him.

Taehyung had lied to Jimin about how the omega had been the cause of his first rut. Strictly, this isn't exactly wrong. Jimin triggered his first rut as he confessed.

Newly presented alphas are meant to have their first rut roughly between five and seven months into presenting. The only exception to this routine, is if you already have your intended mate close to you. Which means, your rut can arrive early if your wolf has already chosen its mate. For taehyung, his first rut occurred on the twelfth day of the fourth month of him presenting as an alpha.

Taehyung didn't have to worry about the 'intended mate' part, since he got a hunch from the hints his wolf had been subtly dropping after he became an alpha. It's not like Taehyung never entertained the thoughts of Jimin as his mate, because, of course, he did that and more. He's been dreaming of mating with Jimin ever since he came to the conclusion that the elder is someone he cannot live without.

It was unheard of for two omegas to mate for love in their pack. This was what made Taehyung keep his mouth closed from screaming his love for Jimin out into the world. But this was before he presented, at a time when a sixteen-year-old taehyung was sure he was going to present as an omega just like his beloved mimi.

Nevertheless, he was ready to fight the world and make jimin his, though this might make him a victim of ridicule, of something society sees as taboo.

Fortunately, everything changed the day his wolf was an alpha. Initially, he was upset because he was anticipating to become an omega like jimin. He had expressed his sadness to Jimin, who had reassured him by saying how he would be a good alpha. Hearing those words from jimin got him thinking that maybe being an alpha wasn't bad.

The days that came after proved his assumption right.

His scent glands began picking up the various aromas around him, the scents of different wolves intermixing and woven together as one, it made his nose quiet sensitive. He couldn't walk into a crowd due to the fear of starting a sneezing spree that would likely end with him having a runny nose. There were days he couldn't even stand Jungkook's clove. The younger's scent was mild and calm from him being a beta, but to taehyung, the smell was permeating both his nostrils to the point of suffocation.

Funnily enough, his clogging nose found only one scent inviting. Jimin's cherry blossoms.

(Taehyung would be lying if he said that Jimin's scent didn't affect him. Oh, no one really understands the internal turmoil that was raging a war inside him. To him, Jimin's blossoms were mouth watering way before his nose became this susceptible, all the way back to the time Jimin was eighteen and a newly presented omega.

What Jimin's scent did to taehyung after his nose began to pester him is on a whole new level. The urge to hide his face in the crook of the omega's neck and stay cuddled with Jimin was messing up his head badly the first few days. This later increased as an itch in his teeth and does he have to explain what it meant?)

Hoseok, their sunshine hyung, had nicknamed him 'superglue' for clinging to jimin for almost a week after his presentation. Taehyung didn't mind the teasings or the exasperated sigh his hyung directed his way every time hoseok saw him back hugging jimin, easily snuggling to bury his nose on Jimin's shoulder, somewhere he could sniff the omega's blossoms better without arousing any suspicions.

This earned him looks, but taehyung wasn't going to let anything affect him. Besides, Jimin didn't try to push him away. The omega welcomed him into his arms, had endured when he playfully rubbed his snot all over Jimin's favourite shirt and had lent him his shoulder to snooze. Taehyung beamed all toothy the day jimin had named him 'His cuddle monster'.

Taehyung was relieved (and a bit unhappy) when his nose finally decided to abandon its role of being an ultrasensitive bitch. Slowly, his nose adjusted to the surrounding odours. Even then, cherry blossoms were easily distinguishable and stood above every minute fragrance. Taehyung can sniff the smell for miles now.

He enjoyed the advantage of his nose remaining receptive to Jimin's blossoms. This gave him a head start every time he wanted to find jimin. Taehyung doesn't have to ask around for the omega because he is sure he can trust his instinct and heightened senses to take him to the older. His wolf will guide him to the omega, who is no doubt unaware of his presence in his vicinity.

As much as the perks, there are several drawbacks to this specific skill taehyung mastered.

One such downside is especially significant during the times of jimin's heat. Taehyung wasn't affected by Jimin's cycles before he presented (however, he would not lie that he had thought of helping the omega through his heat).

Being an alpha is hard, specially if you are an alpha who has to ride out the pain of separation from his mate who is spending his heat alone. Jimin's heat lasts a total of four days, which means four days of taehyung having to control himself from acting out impulsively. Four days of not seeing his dearest. Four days of being in charge of his wolf, who is throwing tantrums for not running to his omega, further complicating his plight. Four days of struggle to not break down Jimin's front door and take the omega into his arms.

96 hours of agony that taehyung despises every three months.

5760 minutes of strong yearning, he hopes not to repeat.

Still, the pain from his longing disappears the instant he sees jimin after his heat broke, the omega's body flushed and looking tired with a rosy glow on his cheeks. It's heaven after he gets to hold jimin in his arms afterward. Taehyung adores the post-heat jimin, his body bathed in the comfiest big sweater, his body soft and so cuddly, taehyung has a hard time letting go of the omega from his arms.

A small part of him rejoiced when jimin too seemed reluctant to leave his embrace, leaning on his body, so he could bundle them up in his long coat.

Taehyung didn't tell Jimin that the omega was the reason for his second and third ruts and the ones that came after.

Now at the age of twenty-five, taehyung couldn't bring himself to say the truth to jimin about the omega being the trigger for his wet dreams some morning, how he had never wished for anything more than to join the omega for his heat (if jimin lets him).

Taehyung had no other choice but avoid jimin now. Maybe the omega doesn't know, but Jimin's about to enter his heat in a few days. Don't ask him how. Taehyung knows that jimin is in his preheat. Circling around jimin when the Omega is in his preheat is like asking to keep a ticking time bomb beneath his pillow. Taehyung didn't have a clue how he managed to keep him in check all the time Jimin walked around him like a field of freshly bloomed blossoms, the scent succulent, delectable and absolutely heavenly.

There's a high chance he isn't going to hold himself back this time. Something in him is certain his self-control is going to be severed with no means to reattach them again.

Avoiding jimin is the only way taehyung could monitor his wolf who is threatening to go wild.
