'Jimin ah'

'Jimin ah, please'

Taehyung has been chasing the omega for some time now. Jimin speeds up every time he catches up to him, giving him the cold shoulder and ignoring his existence.

Taehyung is an alpha, known for his speed, strength and handwork, and jimin, as an omega, is supposed to be petite, small, delicate (as is dictated by the norms) with legs that should definitely not be this fast. Jimin, with his chubby angelic face and shorter legs (this is a joke, the omega is 99% legs) shouldn't be spotting a frown on his lips or walk this faster and evade him. Taehyung's lungs are closing up from the exertion he is putting himself under while in pursuit of an omega who is deeply hurt because of him.

Taehyung didn't know what he should do to make Jimin listen to him. He is not sure if the omega will give him a chance again. He knows he is in the wrong and that he has no right to complain. But he couldn't let Jimin dismiss him like that. Perhaps he should beg. Maybe that will make the omega cave.

'Jiminah-'

'Yes, Taehyung', Jimin suddenly turns around, giving him a look that alerts Taehyung how badly he fucked things up. The omega stands (almost?) defensive, arms crossed across his chest and left foot tapping on the ground. It's like Jimin is giving his time to indulge a total stranger. It's a pretense. Taehyung knows this because he has seen Jimin withdraw into himself the times he has been subjected to hurt. This is the way the omega copes with the impact. He knows this because he is the one to always hold and pacify the hurt omega.

Still, Jimin's eyes depict a sadness he hasn't seen in a very long time. The last time Jimin looked at him this upset, he was bedridden from sustaining a fracture to his left leg from wrestling an alpha. Jimin had cried and whined, scolded and ignored him till he promised he wouldn't do anything reckless again.

Jimin raked his eyes over his face, the corners of his eyelids glistening with new teardrops and taehyung's heart squeezed painfully inside his chest. The omega's eyebrows scrunch together, lips parting as if he was going to say something. But the omega closes his mouth as if he thought better of it.

Taehyung wished Jimin would say something to him. Curse or scold him, anything, because he can't take any more of this.

Taehyung hadn't gone this long without hearing Jimin's voice. Of course, they fought like cat and dog when they were two hot-headed youths, argued over the simplest of things and ignored each other till they were ready to put those meaningless fights behind them. They reconciled the next day, apologizing for taking the fight this far, hugged, giggled, and they were back to their usual selves, clinging to each other. So far, this is the biggest fight they have had. This is the first time either of them let their fight keep them apart for so long. Was it a fight if he was the first one to avoid Jimin without giving him any context?

'What were you going to say, taehyung?', jimin asked, an eyebrow raised upon seeing him frozen. The omega's foot is impatiently tapping on the floor as if Jimin doesn't want to do anything with him, that he is sparing taehyung a part of his precious time. Taehyung didn't fail to notice the lack of endearment when Jimin called his name, the wolf in him whimpering with remorse.

Taehyung was so disappointed with his wolf, with himself for misreading the incident. If it wasn't for his unshakable belief that he knows Jimin more than anyone, he wouldn't have ended up in a situation where looking at the omega hurt like hell. The day it got confirmed he was wrong, he began regretting evading Jimin. As days began blurring, taehyung repented of his mistake and grieved the trust he broke with a snap of his fingers. But even then, his wolf didn't blame him. His alpha was still sure that he hadn't gotten things wrong, about Jimin being in pre-heat. It's when Taehyung's sorrow grew to the point of heartache, his wolf started sympathizing for him. At least he had someone he could seek for comfort.
