you'll never understand

You'll never understand

what you put me through,

how much it hurt,

or what I felt

"You'll never trick me again"

whispers and chants

that put me to sleep,

but I know it's something I'll never achieve

You'll never stop this cycle

of on-and-off talking,

with heartbreaking ends

and heartbreaking beginnings

You'll never be consistent

on the level of my importance

I'll never stay on the top

but I'll always leave the bottom

You'll never be anything other than

pain and belonging

you bring me so many issues,

but still treat me so nicely

You'll never end

no matter how much I dream

you keep coming back

even when I want you to leave
