The night had held me. Far away from the city, the pollution and the beeps of the cars, this view was worth seeing. After the struggles of the day, this was where I got my peace.
After the shifts and university work, this was where I would wander.
My parents who left me when I was just fifteen, their souls, the stars twinkled bright, different from any other. My grandmother, who used to take care of me, accompanied them, too.
Now that they left me alone in this world, I had to keep up with its laws.
The world was too cruel. They would judge you for your looks and appearance. No one's genuine, not at all. They'll use you for their selfish desires and leave you in the end when they no longer need you.
It reminded me of this one time when I was hanging out with my friend. She was pure; that's what I used to think. When I was under pressure and asked her for help, she immediately left me. There. All alone.
My life has been like that; the one who came gave me hope, but then, just like everyone, it also left me. A tear tickled and made its way down my cheek.
My life looked happy and cheerful from the outside but I only know how hard it is to survive. I hope no one goes through a life like mine.
When you know no one cares for you, no one who loves you, no one who will cry for you then it hurts. All I wanted was someone to love me, nothing else and nothing less.
I was staring at the glowing moon in the dark blue night where twinkling stars were. The light of the stars and moon was enough. It provided me with a light which was like a sign, a light of hope.
As if they told me to enjoy this and forget the worries which I had in my mind.
The air was fresh and my scooter was parked at the side of the bench. This was not very far from my home and no one came here. There is only grass where ever I see. A field it was.
This gave me peace whenever I was in tough situations or needed comfort. I closed my eyes as the sudden cool breeze hit me making a few strands of my hair flow to the side. I opened my eyes and my lips parted at the sight.
Everything just...changed?
For a moment I could not even let out a gasp. In front of my very own eyes, I was staring at a place which I never saw nor was there. My body felt light.
Everything changed; there were no trees but now they are purple. I'm sitting on a bench in the middle of the woods. Everything I see is purple, even the dark blue sky is now dark purple.
I glanced at the sides, the comfortable posture I was sitting in was replaced by a panicked one. Engulfing this foreign air, I jumped from my seat.
Snapping my head to the sides, my eyes widened. I started walking, fast yet steady. I went through bushes and long grasses which came in my way. I started running, but I couldn't find a way.
There was no way, I was trapped and lost. Sweat formed on my forehead and my heart thumped in my chest like a train. I pushed my legs further, letting out gasps for air as I felt my legs giving up slowly.
A sudden bright light blinded me. I blinked a few times and ran closer to it and found myself on a street. On a stone pavement, I stood. I glanced both ways.
Not a single soul was present. It was dark, and just a dim light could let me see my surroundings. I took a few steps, a few more.
A small slight hush made me stop in my path. I stood, frozen on my spot. I couldn't move. My hand unconsciously hovered over a pocket of my jacket. I traced the lining of a spray bottle.
For once in my whole lifetime, I was proud to keep pepper spray with me for situations like this.
A few shadows were what I could see close to a bush. The noise got louder. The shadows I saw started to come near. They were coming in my direction, closer. They were people, or that's what I could make out from the shadows.
"Don't come near me: I'll s-scream." I said and gulped. I would scream and I was not joking at that point. I couldn't see their faces because of the dim lights.
I stayed in my spot as they encircled me, their faces covered with a black cloth which only made their eyes visible. Waiting for the right moment, my hand slightly went inside my pocket.
A hand stretched out to catch me. I stepped back and with a swift movement, I sprayed them all in the eyes. I didn't waste a single second before lunging in a direction at full speed.
"AH FUCK! I DIDN'T THINK SHE WAS SO DAMN PREPARED!" A voice in the background screamed. "LANGUAGE!" "CATCH HER YOU DUMBASSES!"
I didn't think that this day would come when I had to run for my life. "HE SHOULD HAVE COME HIMSELF TO CATCH HER!" Are they fighting while their prey is running away?
"You idiots, catch her!" Looks like the smart one shouted this time. I was running like my life depended on it, it did. The path I ran on was like a never-ending void. It stretched so long and dark as if it was a black hole and it would consume me.
My lungs gave it out to me with every step I took. My legs were going to go numb. Every part of my body felt like giving up.
Suddenly, a figure came in front of my eyes. My eyes shook as I couldn't stop myself from running. I bumped straight into it and with a thud, we both fell to the ground.
I couldn't lift myself even though when my brain screamed for me to stand up. Not now. "Please, leave me." It was a plead, plead for help, plead of a human for the sake of humanity.
"Sorry, sweetheart, but you have to come with us." A handkerchief was pressed to my nose, and a foreign smell filled my nostrils. My eyelids shut themselves without my consent and my head felt lighter.
My eyes closed letting the darkness of black engulf me.
