AUTHOR'S POV
"I really want to eat some muffins! Do you guys have any money?" Minjun asked both of them who were nowhere close to stopping the bickering. He especially did this to change the topic and stop them.
Both of them looked at him, leaving their matters.
"Jun, I don't have any money...my mother didn't give me this week," Soyoon replied, her voice laced with disappointment that she could not help him.
"Er...I don't have any either." Hajun glanced at the fresh and warm muffins at the stall and then at Minjun. Minjun's shoulders slumped. His face, from all smiley, went to neutral.
Y/n, who had seen all of this from the start as the three of them conversed loudly, went close to them. She crouched, matching their level, and gaining the attention of three dazzling pair of eyes.
Soyoon and Hajun gazed at her with their eyes blank and squinting them. Minjun was the only one who stared at her, tilting his head to the side.
"You want muffins?" She asked, smiling at the little kids and slightly tilting her head, letting the strands of her hair loosely cover her face a bit.
Minjun's eyes shone for once but they vanished a second later. "But miss, we don't have any money." She heard Minjun's voice.
"I'll buy them for you."
"Sorry miss, we don't take anything from strangers," said Hajun. The uninterestingness was visible in his voice.
"I'm like your friend too. Can't I gift you something?" asked Y/n, not showing any slight signs of backing off.
"Your Highness! What seems to be the problem?" Yeonjun rejoiced from behind, standing close to her.
'Your Highness?', thought Hajun as his black void-like eyes fell over the symbol of Royalties on her dress. He patted Soyoon's arm, who looked at him with an annoyed look and told her to see the symbol with his eyes.
Soyoon rolled her eyes before seeing where he was directing. Her eyes widened a little and her skin turned pale. 'Is she the princess?!', a thought struck her.
"Nothing Yeonjun. What are your pretty names?" Y/n diverted her attention back to the kids.
"I'm Minjun; nice to meet you, Miss Kind." Y/n's lips curved upwards hearing his little words. "Please don't call me that. I'm Y/n; you can address me as Noona." Minjun made an okay sign with his little fingers.
"I'm Soyoon, your Highness. It's a pleasure to meet you." Soyoon bowed and introduced when she saw Y/n's eyes falling on her next. "There is no need to be so formal with me! I'll be glad if you address me as your sister."
Her eyes twinkled as she looked at the little Soyoon. A well-mannered and fierce girl.
"Hajun," spoke Hajun before bending slightly for Y/n. 'He's an interesting kid.', thought she whose eyes were closing as she was smiling more.
Y/n told Yeonjun to buy muffins; for them, herself and himself. Yeonjun did what he was told to and bought fresh baked and warm muffins in paper bags.
"You should have bowed more," said Soyoon.
"Why does it concern you?" asked Hajun and here they started again. Both of them were trying to prove their point right. At last, Hajun sighed and gave up.
"Can you both even stop for once?! At least behave!" said Minjun, his eyes burning with fire.
Both of them shut up seeing Minjun giving them a look of threat. They couldn't go against Minjun for he was their best friend. Hajun kept his poker face, folding his arms over his chest while Soyoon poked her inner cheek.
The cool odour in the air hinted at the chilly weather. Grey clouds covered the sun.
Yeonjun came back with five bags and handed four to Y/n. The warm and delicious aroma filled the air. She took a sniff of the muffins. The warm and sweet fragrance hit her nose.
She bent down close to Minjun and handed him the first bag. "Thank you, Noona!" She patted his head and handed one to Soyoon.
"You're a brave girl," praised she. Soyoon mumbled a small 'thank you', and a pink colour tinted her cheeks.
Y/n then looked over at Hajun. "You're a smart kid." She patted him on the head, too, and he accepted the bag.
'He never likes when someone pats him.', thought Minjun who was glad that Hajun had appreciated Y/n's touch. Minjun's eyes hid when he smiled.
