Ben leaned back in his chair, a confused frown was visible on his face. Not very far away from him, he watched how his friends took cover behind a large plant.

Steve held binoculars in his hands as he slowly rose higher than the green shrubs.

Ben rolled his eyes.

Not long after that, a second head of curly brown hair popped up. Dustin had accompanied him on their mission.

Since they had gathered that some evil Russians were behind the whole mystery. The two boys had decided to become spies for the day.

If only Steve's boss knew what he was paying him for. Ben smiled a little as he watched his two friends bicker. Luckily for the tall boy, he was far enough away from them to not be able to hear them. But more importantly, he was far enough away so that nobody, at last people who didn't know him, would be able to link him with those two idiots.

For a second, he looked away. Towards his right.

There it was.

A sight he didn't want to see

The girl who had her beautifully manicured fingers dug deep into his heart.

Out on a date with another boy. He couldn't help but keep his eyes on her for a little longer than he should.

She was sitting alone on a bench, waiting for her little boyfriend to return, no doubt. She was lost in thought, Ben noticed. Her head was down, looking at her hands.

Ben shook his head. If Ben from a year ago could only see him now.

"Who does he think he is?" Victoria's head shot up from looking at her nails.

Toby Walton, Victoria's boyfriend, had come back. In his hands, he was holding two cups of Coca-Cola. He had short flat brown hair. It was his favourite thing about himself, if anyone were to ask him. At least twice every minute, he would use his hands to place the strands where they were supposed to go.

As vain as the boy was, he was quite nice and treated Victoria very well. At the end of the day, the strawberry-blonde couldn't complain.
