[victoria's pov]

The "later" that I had planned to tell Millicent ended up lasting for a few days as I anticipated. It wasn't that I didn't want to tell her, it was that I had seemed to have forgotten she had her own life. And without any distractions around, I noticed how many directions we were all being pulled in.

Even Hermione herself was so torn, she had slowed down the movement of SPEW. Fred and George hadn't pulled any tricks lately (or haven't been caught) and my brother himself had been occupied with his girlfriend.

Millicent was always busy with Vincent, even sometimes during passing time. Such as now. He had come out of nowhere and began talking to her about his headmaster's strange behaviour lately, but I pulled Millicent away when I noticed her alarmed look of his sudden presence.

"Apologies, but she was my girlfriend first," I said, pulling her away with a grin as he couldn't help but share the same.

Millicent laughed as we made our way down the corridor to our alchemy class.

She immediately takes that as the chance to ask, "So why've you been so down and uptight?"

I'm hesitant to tell her because I've been bottling up all of my emotions.

Of course I wasn't going to give Mattheo and his friends the satisfaction of my hurt.

But Theo on the other hand, I wasn't sure what to say because he had saved me twice. And I couldn't find myself to hate him for it. How could I? Knowing his step mother only made me feel more obligated to forgive him for his only crime of silence.

Millicent is patiently waiting for my response as I say, "Mattheo and I are over with."

"What?" Millicent exclaimed loudly then quietly pulled me aside when she caught the attention of some Beauxbatons students. I hushed her while she asked, "What happened?"

I took a deep breath. "It's a lot... I just thought I could trust him because of our childhood together. But let's just say he's been lying about his intentions the entire time..."

"I don't understand why you didn't tell Fred and George yet," Millicent said hesitantly. "They'd drive him mad enough to withdraw from the school."

With a slight grin, I said, "That's exactly what I'm afraid of. And you have no idea what my brother would do to Mattheo if he ever figured out such a thing, I just want to move on from him."

"How do you suppose-"

"I've been hoping we could talk," Theo appeared from the corner of the corridor.

Millicent gives me wide eyes and I give her raised brows. Had he heard our conversation?

"Talk about what?" I ask Theo as he approaches and comes to a stop when Millicent gives him a questioning expression on her face.

"Potions," he asked. "How's that going on?"

"Good... kind of...," I said to Theo. I wasn't willing to be alone with him right now. "The new unit is not something I'm confident about though, honestly."

"Back on Wednesdays then?" he asked with a hopeful smile.

I nodded, returning his smile. Were things really okay between us?

"Was that all?" Millicent asked, almost rudely.

The awkwardness would've been so thick, I wouldn't be able to handle it. Theo shifted his feet before saying what we've been waiting for with light anticipation.

"I was wondering if you'd like to go see the Weird Sisters concert in Hogsmeade with me this weekend?" he said with a hesitant smile. "To get things off our chest in the meantime while we have the chance..."
