[victoria's pov]

The twins' brilliant teeth falling idea had seemed to make the entire season brighter as the entire castle was still buzzing about the most previous tournament. Ron no longer seemed to be angered at Harry after the first tournament, I realised, probably in realisation of how dangerous the trials really were.

The castle seemed to glow with each snowflake that fell. It had built up snow and frozen the surface of the Black Lake, making the monster in it retreat to its home at the bottom.

The hall was quiet as Snape watched us like a hawk as we worked on our assignments. I sat beside the twins as they passed notes to each other. Ron eventually got into the message too and Fred asked if he had any luck yet.

Ron shakes his head and the twins giggle quietly and Ron makes a particular face, causing Fred to throw a ball of parchment at Angelina to catch her attention. She looks up from her paper and Fred signals to himself and her before swaying his arms. It was a little proposal, which she nodded in response as Katie grinned. Fred and George high-fived each other as Ron rolled his eyes. I grinned but turned my attention away from them.

Once Snape left the room for a few minutes, Fred turned to me and asked who I was going to the ball with.

"Oh, I have some ideas," George said, wiggling his brows at the Slytherin table.

I slapped his hand away, catching Draco's attention, who made a sour face before turning his attention back to his textbook. Next to him was Theo who was, as usual, focused on his work. Oh to be like him.

"Oi!" Fred exclaimed loudly, making some heads turn. "Why can't George just take you?"

I shushed them as George sat taller in his seat and said, "Hmmm, I don't know, I'm not really her type!"

They both purposely spoke loudly in the quiet hall as Hermione and Ginny shared a grin when Magnus asked, "What is your type?"

"Well, I don't really-"

"Six feet tall and super strong?" Fred exclaimed loudly, pulling his hand toward his ear. "Someone who'd get along?"

"Fred!" I hissed, slapping his arm with my textbook as George stood.

"What's that?" George cried. "Someone kind and ain't afraid to cry? Or did you say someone who treats his mama right?"

I buried my head into my arms, as red as their hair when the great hall bursts into giggles, making me grin as well when I see Mattheo nudge Draco's shoulder with a short laugh.

The twins sat back down when Snape entered the room, demanding for silence, even though a couple of more giggles burst loose.

"You're both evil for that," I mumble.

The snicker and point to the Slytherin table. Theo's now zoned out at his quill, unable to focus on his work as he fiddles with a paperclip in his fingers. He had obviously been distracted. I face the twins and only scoff with a smile and see Millicent.

From the look on Millicent's face from across the room, she seemed as if she had something to say. Her face was pink as when we were dismissed, I quickly made my way over to her.

"Is something the matter?" I asked her.

She shakes her head then breaks a smile. "I'm going to the ball with Vincent!"

"Not Crabbe, right?" I asked.

She rolled her eyes then said, "No, you know who I'm talking about."

I laughed as we made our way to the common room. I already knew what was waiting for us before we even stepped into the Slytherin chambers. Millicent gasped excitedly as there stood a tall Christmas tree in the centre of the room, decorated with silver ornaments and candles. It was fairly traditional as reefs hung against each torch on the wall with silver bows and the garlands hung over the fireplace like an ethereal weave of fairy nests.
