THE TWO weeks I spent in my cast flew by with the help of the medical nin at Konoha's Senju Memorial Hospital, who sped up my natural healing drastically. I spent most time at home, meditating with my mother and discussing my training. Misuo-sensei also made a few house calls and updated me on Natsumi-chan, whom had woken up after the first few days from her mini-coma from overusing her chakra, along with a few breaks and muscle tears in her body, forcing her to have an extra week of recovery than Kiyoko. Kazuki-kun was mainly fine, with chakra over usage and some minor bruises (damn long-distance fighters).

I bounced on my newly healed leg (or knee, rather) and felt a small ache in it as I did so. The nurse told me to take it easy after they took my cast off, but I was ready to dive back into my training - I couldn't fall behind if I was going to surpass Namikaze-san. Although, mother said I would be working on my Rāiton since on the report she found some issues that were caused by using it when I wasn't ready.

I felt the energy of nature surround me as I breathed in deeply, knowing mother was watching me from the porch and felt an odd sense of anxiety build up in me and breathed it out, falling into a relaxed but firm stance as I felt my lightning chakra crackle to life and spread through my body. I felt thankful that Misuo-sensei had taught me the basics when he did because it ended up saving my butt when we got attacked, that extra speed boost saved me from a world of pain.

Although, I still ended up with slight damage to my chakra paths, which formed dark, ugly bruises along my skin after my adrenaline wore off. Thank Kami I was asleep by then - something that Kazuki wouldn't let me live down.

"You're not regulating it through your body properly, which probably caused you to get tired as quick as you did." I heard my mother say as she hopped down and walked towards me. I gave her a quick glance as I recalled the fight - if you could call it that. We were getting jumped, honestly - but I had noticed that I was avoiding using jutsu's that weren't Rāiton because I was subconsciously trying not to overuse my chakra. As a member of the Yamada clan, I did have naturally large reserves (although, that didn't come lose to the Uzumaki clan's reserves) and for me to have drained so much chakra with my Rāiton was... not good.

I frowned and closed my eyes, feeling the Rāiton flow through my chakra paths and realised I had been cycling it wrong unconsciously. Mother hummed in approval as she reached me and adjusted my stance slightly.

"How do I fixed it so I don't have to concentrate so hard?" I asked, feeling frustrated with myself. Mother gave me one of those smiles that made you think that she held the secrets of the world and I felt my shoulder relax as her hands touched my shoulders gently.

"Practice running it through your chakra paths while meditating, it will become as easy as breathing." she said softly, hands ghosting over my shoulders. My breath slowed as I gently guide my chakra carefully thorough my body. I would be here for a while.

I sighed, "can I do physical training afterwards?" I asked hopefully, huffing as I heard mother made a small noise of disagreement. Ugh, more meditation it is. Like I haven't done enough of that this week.

I breathed in deeply, the scent of the earth filling my nose and clouding my senses. The world around me fell away, my hands forming a diamond shape as I used it as a guide for my breathing. I felt my Rāiton pinch my skin, the lightning crackling along its surface and leaving it tender and warm.

Kiyoko meditated through her final days of "rest", her days spent working on the flow of Raiton through her body - it still took some concentration, but it was much easier to maintain as she trained, well, meditated. It came to her easier now, however it wasn't second nature just yet and she wasn't as fast as other seasoned Rāiton users, like Misuo.
