Chapter 6. Mouthful of Diamonds

Kayla's POV

I'm so glad today is Saturday and I don't have to get up for school. I get to sleep in my nice warm comfy bed.

As I tried to turn my body something or should I say someone's arm was preventing me from turning.

Then last night's events came back. Liam came back drunk ask to stay with me and got in my bed.

"Kayla breakfast," my mom called out. Oh no Liam is still in my bed. I tried to shake him awake, but he is a heavy sleeper.

So I tap his face and then I don't know why, but I touched his lips. That seems to get a reaction out of him and he stirs a little bit. I pull my hand away real fast. He looks at me for the longest and then my mom breaks us out of our staring contest.

"Kayla get out of that bed and come eat or I will come up there and get you myself."

My eyes widen and I hop out of the bed and Liam just casually gets out of the bed. I forgot he has only boxers on I turn around and my face heats up quickly.

I hear him take a long sigh. "You can look now," he says.

I hesitated, but I finally turn around and he tells the truth and he is fully clothed.

Now, I have to sneak him out the house. So, we are coming down the stairs and Liam is close behind me. I peak around the corner and my mom is staring right at me. My heart is beating fast and I wave Liam to go down the hallway and he steps in my mom's study.

"Kayla, what took you so long?" I got really nervous and

I said "You know it's Saturday and teenagers like to sleep in."

She shakes her head and says "Well, since you took so long to come down I already ate and I wanted to eat with you before I went to the gardening store. So I see you in an hour."

I nod my head and she heads out the door and takes off out of the driveway. I walk to my mom's study where Liam is hiding and he is looking at all my awards and achievements.

My all A honor rolls, science, math, reading, any award I got it. I guess the life of the nerd.

"My mom left to go to the store you can leave now, but she made a lot of breakfast would you like some?"

He says NO in a cold voice and walks past and bumps my shoulder. Ok, so what's with the sudden mood change?

I follow him out and he before he leaves he turns around and says. "Stay away from me and just because you helped me doesn't make us friends alright?"

He walks to his house and slams the door. Tears start to fall down my face what did I do? I walk back in my house and go back to my room and look out the window and I see his blinds and curtains to his bedroom is closed he never closes it.

I close my blinds and I get my iPhone get in the bed and listen to music I change it to Phantograms- Mouthful of Diamonds and just lay in the bed all morning.

Liam's POV

I thought were going to get caught by her mother. I'm glad I hid out in some room.

I started to look around the room and it had all her achievements and awards.

Wow, she was really smart. I think about how I'm not really smart.

Now, I think about it I can't do anything for her I'm just a fuck up. I can ruin her future. I hear footsteps coming I knew it was her she has light footsteps. She told me I could leave or I could stay for breakfast.

I walked past her and I hear her following me, but before I left I told her "Stay away from me and just because you helped me doesn't makes us friends alright?" I walked away and went in my house. I knew I had to be mean to her so she could stay away from me and I don't mess up her life. I felt so bad, but it's for the best even though it feels so wrong.

I'm not really worried about waking my mother she doesn't wake up til 12 on Saturdays.

I walk to my room and I immediately notice her window. I close my blinds and curtains and I never do that. I like looking outside, but to avoid her I had to close them.

I feel so bad I saw the look on her face and it tore me up inside to see her hurt. I take a shower and head out to my best friends house; David, hopefully to clear my mind.
