A Brother In Arms

The sun rose into the morning sky. The second day of work has begun for Hiroko. He gets up, knowing that Hitori is sick and won't be going to work.

"Ah, jeez... I don't know what was wrong with my bed, but I had a terrible sleep." Hiroko says, rubbing his eyes.

Then, he looks out at his window and says...

"And knowing what happened last night... Oh, man..."

(Flashback)

Hiroko actually escorted Hitori back to her home because of her condition getting worse. She threw her arms around Hiroko, and he was focused on bringing her to her parents and leaving quickly so she could get help without having him in the way

"Gotoh-san, we're almost at your place, right?" Hiroko asked Hitori worryingly.

She didn'y say anything but nod her head, and she pointed to her left.

Then, Hiroko looked to his left and saw Hitori's home.

"Oh, this is it. Alright, let's get you inside." He said as he walked up to the front door with her.

With a single knock, the front door opened up to reveal Hitori's parents, Michiyo and Naoki at the door.

"Welcome home, Hitori-chan!" Michiyo said to Hitori.

Then, Michiyo turned her attention towards Hiroko and asks...

"Oh? Who's this?"

"Ah, I-I'm her workmate. She felt sick once work was over, so I escorted her home in case if she needed some help." Hiroko responded quickly.

"Oh, thank you for helping with our daughter getting home." Michiyo replied, sounding relieved but worried at the same time.

"Y-Yeah. You're... Welcome..."

Hiroko glanced at Naoki who looked... Well, not really happy.

Due to the look on Naoki's face, he thought...

Shit! Is that Gotoh-san's dad?! Is he one of those overprotective ones that worry a lot about their kids and who they date?! I should go, quickly!

Hitori slwoly walked into her home, and she looked back at Hiroko.

With a weak voice, she said...

"T-Thank you, Hiroko-kun..."

Hiroko nodded his head and looked back at Hitori's parents.

"Riiight. I should go." Hiroko said, pointing behind him.

"Oh. I see, then. Have a good night! Get back home safely!" Michiyo said calmly, waving him goodbye.

"Y-Yeah! I will! Thank you!" Hiroko started walking backwards quickly with an anxious expression.

The next time I come back here, I have to make myself look good in front of Gotoh-san's parents!

(Flashback End)

"I just hope that Gotoh-san will get better by tomorrow." Hiroko says while continuing to look out his window without blinking.

After a minute passed, he sighed and got up from his bed to take a shower.

-Short Timeskip-

Once Hiroko was finished taking his shower, he put on his usual outfit, grabbed his guitar case with his guitar in it and walked to the front door.

Hiroko reaches the front door and puts his hand on the doorknob, ready to leave for another day of work.

"I'll see you after work, mom. Love you." He smiles at the picture of her, and he walks out the door.
