I slowly wake up in the health office, and I see a doctor to my right.
"Oh, you're awake. So, your teeth are finished and your gums seem to be fine-"
"Oh, OH! Where's my d*ck at?"
The doctor immediately leaves without a word.
"Wha- No! HEY!"
I quickly sit up on the health office bed, but I'm now in another room. A different one.
A blanket was over my lower body, and a bandage was wrapped around my head.
"It was just another dream. Whew..."
"Oh, Hiroko-kun. You're finally awake."
I look to my right and see Kita with Gotoh.
"How are you feeling? Gotoh-san woke up half a minute ago." Kita asks.
"I'm fine. But I'm... I feel a bit lightheaded." I replied.
"I heard you two collapsed, so I got worried."
"S-Sorry to make your worry." I say.
"Is something wrong?" Kita asks me.
"Nah, it's nothing..." I reply to Kita.
I-I have to tell Kita-san about the culture festival! But then... I might get blinded by her aura again. And I'm getting the feeling that I shouldn't do that...
Damn, dude. You be causing trouble all the time.
I guess I really am Bad To The Bone.
"T-Thanks for coming, Kita-san. I'll head to work soon once my head doesn't hurt as much. Tell Nijika-chan that I'll be coming in late." I say to her, slowly lying down.
"But won't you two be lonely? You two are in separate rooms right now." Kita asks, worried about me.
"I'll be fine! Y-You're gonna hang out with your friends, right?"
"Sure, but I can cancel them!"
"D-Don't worry about me, Kita-san. J-Just have a good time with them."
"Well... Just take it easy, okay? I hope you and Gotoh-san get better, soon." Kita says, finally leaving.
I sigh and close my eyes, satisfied that I can get more sleep.
But, the voice of a woman and a blurry picture of a mother and a son appears in my mind.
"Mom, I wanna be just like you and Dad! You're both amazing at the guitar, and I want to become as good as you two! Maybe then, I can start a band with my friends and recruit other people so that we can become a popular rock band known all over the world!"
"Wow, I'm amazed by your dream, son! As long as you're determined and don't let go of that dream, you and your friends can become great together. You'll be able to shine as bright as a star just like how you always make your father and I happy."
"I promise you, mom! I'll be the best guitarist in the world! Believe me!"
...
Oh, sweet memories. How they always put a smile on me.
...
You miss her, don't you?
...
Yeah.
I sigh again and get up from the bed in the health office, taking my form sheet for the culture festival and storing it in my jacket pocket.
