Calm Before The Storm (Part 2)

The day after meeting the members of HyperFever, it was now time for me to tell Gotoh that u want to sign up. I have a feeling that she might want to do it for the band, too.

School currently ended, and I'm walking with Gotoh to Starry. As usual, it was silence between the two of us, but we both enjoyed each other's company.

I start to whistle a random tune and play with my guitar case straps.

"Uh, h-hey, Gotoh-san."

"Y-Yeah?"

"So, you know about the culture festival tomorrow, right?"

"Mhm."

"Okay, I was just wondering if you'd like to sign up for it with me."

Gotoh starts to look nervous, and I start to look worried.

"H-Hey, you don't have to think too deeply about it. The choice is yours if you do or don't want to sign up."

"Gotoh-san! Hiroko-kun! Good morning!" Kita shouts at us while running up to us.

"G-Good morning..." Gotoh replies to Kita.

"H-Hey, Kita-san." I say to her.

"How are you two feeling? I got worried snd stopped by the nurses office again yesterday. But ypu were both gone."

"R-Really? Sorry..."

"Yeah, m-me too."

"Oh, and I turned it in. For the culture festival performance! We'll be on-stage as Kessoku Band!"

Gotoh's face starts to change, but mine stays the same.

Well, I guess I wasn't the only one who thought about it. Damn.

"I just can't wait! The application must've fallen in the trash by mistake. What a close call, right?"

"Yeah. About that..."

I take the application that I signed out of my pocket.

"I was gonna do the same so I could impress everyone..." I say to Kita while smiling snd crying.

"Oh, you were going to for that reason? I'm sorry, Hiroko-kun." Kita replies with a sorry look.

"D-Don't be... Thanks for turning the application in anyway..."

"Alright, then! Let's put on the best culture festival together!" Kita says positively.

"Yeeeaaahhhh... Let's do this..." I say back to Kita.

Gotoh was dead for the rest of the trip to Starry. When we got there, Nijika and Ryo noticed that she looked dead, and Kita explained the whole story.

"So that's why she's been like that." Nijika says.

"I was so sure that she wanted to do it yesterday. She seemed excited about it." Kita explains with a look of guilt and shame.

"Wh-What do I do? I am a criminal, right? They're going to label me as a murderer!"

"It's not too late to back out, is it?" Ryo suggests.

"They said you can't take it back once you've applied... But I'll talk to them tomorrow." Kita explains to Ryo.

"Hey-yoooo! Free booze, please!" Someone says from upstairs.

"Hell no. Piss off." Seika says back.

Turns out, it was Hiroi. That alcohol addict from out first live performance.
